A/N. Hey guys, here is another update, I hope I didn't make you guys wait too long. So before you guys read this chapter, I just want you to know that the last chapter was a special chapter, hence the first person narrative...most chapters in this book however are in the third person sooo that said, enjoy!
He was soaked wet to the bone. Cold, shivering and tired. But above everything else, he was severely annoyed. Why again had he agreed to help Hastings out? After all he had last seen the guy about four years ago, they used to be really good friends, until Jason had changed that is.
He wasn't even supposed to be in the shop in the first place. Why Jackie couldn't go and get her own tampons eluded him. Just because he was a doctor, the women in his family no longer felt embarrassed to send him on little errands like this. He wouldn't have minded too much if he hadn't had that painful encounter with that mad woman. When he walked over to say hi to Hastings and get himself some coffee, he had not expected him to point out the young lady who was at that point, paying for her stuff at the till.
Hastings had given him the change that she had left there and a note that he said was very important and asked Jason to deliver both to her.
After he tried waving her down and she basically ran away from him he knew he should have just given up, there was obviously something wrong with her, because seriously, who does that? But the pleading look Hastings had given him upon thrusting the money and note in his hand, flashed through my mind, and he decided to take one for the team. For old times' sake. What a mistake that was. After all, all it had gotten him was scraped knees and elbows. Not to mention a wounded ego, especially when she wrote "no way dude" on her window.
Despite the dissapointment, he had to admit though that chasing a woman in the rain across the parking lot was probably the most fun thing that he had done in a while since he hadn't been hanging out with his friends lately. He missed the days when he would go mountain climbing on new and undiscovered routes, scuba diving and surfing in just about deserted waters and skiing down steep slopes in the winter with Blake, Chase and Tyler.Of course that was before Tyler, the player of the group, married his sister Jackie, Blake the family guy lost his daughter and fell into the "great depression" and Chase, well he and Chase just got really busy.
Not that he really minded though, after all one didn't become the top medical supplies distributor in the country as well as a top neurosurgeon, by goofing around all day. He loved his job and what it allowed him to do, such as giving to different charities and supporting his parents in their old age, but he wished he could just take some time off everything and just take a break for a while. The moment he opened the door and entered the house,Jackie's hysterical cries reached his ears. She was probably having another "heart to heart" with their parents about.....well, something.
He knocked on the door to the study, hoping they would just ignore him, that way he wouldn't have to be around his crying sister and helpless dad. He had been there, done that, no thanks. Unfortunatly his dad heard him just as he was about to sneak away and called me inside, darn those creaking floor boards in front of the study.
He walked inside, dreading whatever conversation that would be awaiting him. He knew he shouldn't even have knocked on the door in the first place, but apparently it's "rude to enter the house and not notify anyone of your presence".
"Son, I am glad that you have just arrived, your sister and I where just discussing you." His father said with a serious look on his face. Matthew Blackfield was a tall man with a strong frame and aristocratic looks which Jason had definitely inherited. He had thick locks of black wavy hair that were now peppered with gray. He had bluish-grey eyes that were currently shut as his daughter carried on and on about all the issues she and Tyler were facing in their marriage.
