CHAPTER 3

“Holy cow! Is that a Lamborghini?” Shay exclaimed.

“Hop in, babycakes.”

Nanlaki ang mga mata niya. “You owned this car?”

He gave her a duh stare. “No, I stole it.”

Dahan-dahan siyang naglakad palapit sa kotse nito. Wala siyang pakialam kung mapagkamal man siya nitong sinto-sinto. This was her dream car!

She gasped. “You really do own this car!”

“Duh!” Pinausad nito ang kotse. “I’m driving it, aren’t i?”

“B-but, h-how did you bought it?”

“Easy. I saw it on a magazine. I liked it. I bought it. I give them a check, then boom, they give it to me. With key.” Rann said in so much sarcasm.

“Thanks Mr. Sarcasm.” She leans on the window. “I was just curios on how can you afford to buy something like this. It’s very expensive not to mentio—”

“I’m not a bum, babycakes. I am the owner of Linkinhay International. You know, one of the richest real estate companies in the world.”

“I know. Still, you’re a happy-go-lucky kind of person. I haven’t even seen you in business suit. You’re always wearing,” Iminuwestra niya ang suot nito. “That.”

Nakasuot ito ng black shoes, faded jeans, white t-shirt with a quote ‘I’m the hottest thing on two legs’ at pinatungan iyon ng black leader jacket, na hindi pa niya nakitang hindi nito suot. That’s his usual get up.

“Doesn’t mean I don’t wear business suit that I’m not good at what I do. You haven’t seen me in my office. You haven’t seen me at work. And you,” He looked at her through review mirror. “Don’t know what I can do in terms of Business.”

“Of course I would think that. Wala pa naman akong naaalala na pumasok ka sa opisina mo. I always saw you with a woman in tow. Different woman every day, if I may say.  So, anung gusto mong isipin ko?”

“It’s easy to judge people when you don’t know them.” His voice was filled with sadness.

Napatitig siya sa mukha nito. Walang bakas ng kalungkutan ang mukha nito. His expression was blank and … cold. But his voice earlier …

She shook her head. Maybe she was just imagining it.

“That’s human nature. Human judge based on what they see and how you present yourself.”

“But they don’t know the person personally. Malay mo may tinatago pala silang ugali. Humans are deceivers. You don’t know what’s inside unless you give it a time and dig deeper.”

Again. She was dumbfounded by his words.

She admits she judge people by how they present themselves. Ganoon naman talaga diba? Iyon ang nakagisnan niya. Pero mukhang iba ang opinyon ni Rann.
