CHERYLS POV
"Babe? babeeee, i'm home! is anyone even here??" i call out walking into our house. I see the silhouette of a small child run down the hall and into the living room. Toni and i have been married for 15 years now and we have had three beautiful children.
Olivia Marie,Ailani Heather and Hallie Charlotte Blossom-Topaz.
I never thought i could love someone as much as Toni until we had our girls. I carried Olivia and Hallie, and Toni carried Ailani. i'm living the life i thought i'd never get to live and i'm beyond grateful.
i walk into the living room and see Ailani bouncing on the couch with Hallie giggling on the floor in front of her. "Hi babies" i say, grabbing Aila and tipping her upside down. Hallie continues to laugh, holding her stomach as she rolls around in fits. "Mami, Mamiiii!!! put me downnn" Ailani laughs wriggling out of my grip. I set her down and bend down to kiss her on the forehead. i turn to face Hallie and pick her up, resting her on my hip. "Can either of you munchkins tell me where your muma is? Or Olivia for that matter?" i ask, both of them shake their heads, "let's go find them then!" i say motioning for ailani to hold my hand, we walk into the kitchen, but there's no sign of toni or olivia. Aila let's go of my hand and runs into the pantry, Hallie wriggles out of my arms and follows her, "i'm gonna go find muma, okay?" i call out to them as i set off up the stairs. I can hear chattering, coming from Olivia's bathroom. I go to open the door but I'm met with a lock, she never locks the door? I think to myself. I knock and wait for a reply,
"Ailani, I told you I'll be ten minutes okay bubba, look after Hallie I'll be down in a sec" Toni replies, I sigh and reply
"Tee, it's me. I just got back from work and the kids were loose downstairs and you were no where to be found. Is Olivia in there with you?" I hear a sigh of relief and I the lock clicks, I open the door and see them sitting on the floor, Olivia with a tear stained face and Toni cuddling her.
"Olivia Marie, who has hurt you, tell me right now and I'm gonna go beat their ass up I don't care if they're 13 no one hurts my li-" I'm stopped my Toni grabbing my arm. I look at her with a confused look on my face, she shakes her head and rubs Olivia's back. I sit on the floor with them,
"Livvie, do you want to tell me what's wrong?" I whisper gently, she chuckles,
"Um it's kind of embarrassing..." she looks at me, "I uh- I, um started my period" I let out a sigh of relief and laugh, pulling my eldest into a hug. "Awh baby, that's what this is all about? You poor thing, periods are absolute dog shit I get why you're upset! I just can't believe my beautiful first born is growing up" I laugh, stroking her face,
"Urgh Mami, stop it" She groans, lifting herself up off the floor. I look at Toni, annoyed that I'm not the 'cool mom' anymore. She helps me up and we walk downstairs leaving liv to do her own thing.
The younger girls are perched in front of the tv watching Dora the explorer (my personal favourite). I take Toni's hand and walk into the kitchen, she sits up on the counter and grabs an apple, looking at me contently.
"I guess we really do have a teenager now huh" i sigh leaning against the side. Toni smiles, "yes we do, we have a beautiful teenage daughter and two littles who still want all of our love and affection"
She always knows exactly what to say, it's one of the many reasons I married her. " I love you, you know that right" I say kissing her on the forehead,
"I should hope so, I haven't gone through fifteen years of marriage just to be 'liked by you' " she laughs, scooting off the counter. I watch her walk into the living room, nestling on the couch in between our two youngest. I smile and thank god for the millionth time for blessing me with this life. I'm beyond lucky.
