Sunday

Ms Watson, Harry, and Clara were sitting in the living room-1/8 through a Harry Potter marathon-when there was a series of raps on the door.

"Harriet, get the door," Ms Watson said from her chair. The girl didn't budge. "It's John. Get the door," Ms Watson repeated.

"That's why I'm not getting the door," Harry snorted.

"I'll get it," Clara sighed, pulling off the blanket she and Harry were sharing.

"Thank you, Clara," Ms Watson smiled and shot a glare at her daughter, who shrugged.
"John?" Clara asked with her ear against the door.

"No, it's the misty mountain man," came a sarcastic retort. A deep, sarcastic retort. John didn't have a deep voice. well not as far as Clara remembered. She stepped back from the door and opened it.

on the porch stood John, bundled up in a jumper, and a tall, curly haired boy in a military-trench-coat thing that Clara assumed to be the deep-voiced "misty mountain man".

"Hi Clara," smiled John. He leaned in to give her a friendly peck on the cheek.

"Hey John. Who's this? I thought the rule here was only relatives and partners?" Clara asked, looking nervously at the taller boy.

"Oh this is my boyfriend, Sherlock," John said.

"Yes. boyfriend. Friend. Who is a boy. That I am romantically involved with," Sherlock said stiffly, then made a creepy, cheeky smile.

John gave Sherlock a tight side-hug and grinned.

Clara raised a brow but let them in.

Friday

John stormed into the dorm and slammed the door.

"What is it?" Sherlock sat up on his bunk (he's the bottom) and John plopped down next to him.

"Mary fucking broke it off," he shouted, "and right before the holidays! Can you believe her!"

Sherlock raised his eyebrows. He was actually quite glad inside, for he had feelings for his roommate. But he had do act sympathetic. "Why?"

"She said she was with this guy named Charlie Augustus Maggi. This whole time, she was cheating on me!" John let out a frustrated groan and laid back in Sherlock's bed.

Sherlock laid back too and decided to change the subject. "What are you going to do for the break?"

His roommate rested his elbow across his eyes. "Well I was going to take Mary to my family's mountain house for the break but it looks like that's not happening."

"Mountain house?" Sherlock asked curiously. "I've never been to one of those." Obviously, he wanted to go to John's for the winter break; he had nothing to do at home.

"Well, don't expect to be going to one this year," John grumbled.

"Why not? I've nothing to do for Christmas or New year's."

"Because only relatives and partners are allowed to come."

Sherlock frowned. If only he was John's boyfriend. That gave him an idea. "Well, you don't want to show up alone do you?"

John sat up. "Well, no... What are you getting at?"

Sherlock also sat up. "I could pretend to be-?"

"my boyfriend?" John finished. "Only of you want me to be," Sherlock hastily added.

John was quiet, considering the offer-Sherlock was getting hopeful-but then he remembered he had his heterosexuality to defend.

"Look I'd love to show you the house but I'm not gay."

He could've sworn Sherlock's shoulders sank. Hopefully because of not going to a mountain house.

Sherlock stood up and sighed. "Alright. I guess you'll have to go to your mountain house alone and I'll see one when I'm in my mid-thirties or something, I dunno." John watched his friend miserably trudge to their private bathroom and close the door behind him.

Dammit, he wanted to show Sherlock his mountain house but what was the price? his heterosexuality! he couldn't risk it! but it would be a fake relationship, it'd be over because it never started, right? John sat up and sighed. He couldn't believe what he was about to do.

Sherlock came out of the bathroom. "Oh, I thought you'd be on your bunk by now," he muttered.

John bit his thumb and stood up. "Would you...like to see the mountain house, Sherlock?" he sighed.

Sherlock froze. "As your ... boyfriend?"

"Fake boyfriend," John coughed.

"Whatever it takes to see the house," Sherlock grinned.

"Then you better start packing some clean pants and jumpers."

Sunday (current time)

Clara rejoined Harry on the couch. "Hey, git," Harry greeted John, "Mum said no friends." Clara whispered something in her girlfriend's ear and her jaw dropped.

Harry reached over for the tele clicker and paused the second Harry Potter film. "Johnny boy! I'd no idea you were like that!" She smirked and looked at Sherlock.

John patted his thighs with his hands. "Umm..yeah! I suppose we walk the same road..."

Harry and John fell quiet and Sherlock and Clara exchanged awkward glances. There was a deafening silence until John elbowed Sherlock in the gut. "Introduce yourself," he hissed.

Sherlock stepped up from behind John and extended a hand towards Harry. "Hello, I'm Sherlock," he said.

"I'm Harry. Funny how we're marathoning Harry Potter, huh?" Harry grinned.

"John!" Ms. Watson exclaimed. "Who is this handsome young man?"

John dragged Sherlock by the wrist over to the couch his mum laid on and exasperatedly introduced him as his boyfriend.

"Ooooh! How'd you two meet?" The three women asked. (Clara and Harry are 25)

"When-"

"Look, Sherlock and I had to take an very long, annoying train ride to get here so may we please just go upstairs to get some rest?" John interjected Sherlock.

The three women exchanged a mischievous look, arched eyebrow, and smirk as if saying 'oh yeah, "rest" alright'. John let out an exasperated sigh and dragged Sherlock away from his small, obnoxious family and up the stairs.
