May 1

It's the beginning of May. 10 years and the war has finally ended. News spread across the world nation wide like quick fire. People sprung up in joy as news was confirmed from the general himself. The honorable general who has never let us down, well until we realized what cost our freedom.

Enslaved with no equality.

We were like cattle to them. Abused and used then thrown away like little toys. We didn't mean anything to them. Sure we were glad the war ended but most welcomed death rather than living this unpleasant life. It was horrible. We were the dirt under their shoe. They lived as royalty in that castle of theirs that we built with our own hands and hard labor.

They were the superior race. They were the Blue Eyes. And we were the Dull eyes.

Blue Eyes were fairies. Each had a power with incredible strength.

Each one sculpted to perfection as we had as many flaws as they had money.

Everyday's the same and will be the same. Nothing would change.

But the Blue Eyes kept us instead of killing us off because of they needed a soul mate to live. Years ago, the Blue Eyes figured out us humans could be their soul mates. Their goddess, Faye, would match them up with the perfect mate. Every year there was a ceremony where every girl and boy 16-20 must attend to see if one of them were their mates. I Esmeralda Waldorf am 19 and have survived without getting a mate. I swore on my mother's grave if I ever got a mate, I'd kill myself before letting me succumb to anyone, ever.

But what if he was my savior.

My Hope.

My lifeline.

My Freedom.

Just as I was his.
