Chapter 24

            Julia followed behind everyone else once the sun set. They ended up stumbling upon an abandoned building that seemed inhabited but not by humans. They investigated but found nothing, they left and continued searching for the vampaneze lord. It seemed like forever but they eventually found a vampaneze lair, no one except two were inside, Gannen Harst and Steve Leonard. At that moment Julia's hair stood on end.
"what are you doing here Steve?" Darren asked
"Oh just ruling" he smirked "I'm the vampaneze lord Darren."
Darren looked surprised that his former best friend would be the one he'd have to kill. "Why? I thought we were frie-"
"No the second you betrayed me,you became a vampire and stole my dream,we weren't friends we became enemies.i promised to kill you but now i finally get the chance to do so." He smirked and walked over to him then looked at Julia, "And while I'm at it,ill crush your world to."
Larten stood in front of Julia "Don't you dare threaten her" he growled
Steve laughed "You think that's just towards her?" He looked at everyone then threw larten to the edge, down below were spikes and fire.
Julia gasped and went to run to him but gannen grabbed her and held her. "If you hurt him I'll kill you!" She yelled at Steve
Steve looked at her "Good luck with that i know you can't" he chuckled and walked over to larten, he put up a fight  but Steve ended up winning  "Any last words words?" He asked as he held larten over the edge.
"Yes, you will lose this battle." He said then looked at Julia "I love you" he smiled some
Steve rolled his eyes and dropped him over the edge and chuckled "Let's go Gannen" Steve said walking past them
Julia screamed for larten and once gannen let her go she ran to the edge and started crying "dad I'm sorry I couldn't save you" she said as her voice broke.
Steve talked to Darren for a second then knocked him out and walked out.
Vancha checked on darren and stayed beside him to make sure he was ok.
Amber ran over and comforted Julia the best she could but she knew this broke her. He was the only father figure in her life and always has been, her real father was a monster.
Julia sat there staring at the fire, she couldn't move she didn't want to even try. She wanted her dad back she wanted revenge. She knew though she wasn't allowed to interfere the final battle. As Darren woke up Julia spoke up. "Darren you are the one who can kill him. When you do, do it for me and my father, this is your fate,your final battle. Don't let him die in vain." She said through tears.
Darren finally processed what happened and teared up then nodded. "I will make sure I win" he stated and stood up.
Julia got up "we should get going the final battle will fall upon us soon. We need to prepare you." She looked over the pit one more time "May the vampire gods put you to rest and may your death not be in vain" She said holding her necklace he gave her when she found him when she was a child. It was a crystal necklace an amethyst to be exact on a gold chain. She never takes it off and now she never will for sure.
Vancha and amber wished larten a peaceful rest as well. Darren swore to avenge him. They all left to find Steve and darren will fight the final battle.
