Bardock: What if he survived?

The Beginning Of The End

Bardock was a simple low class Saiyan warrior. Nothing special; decent power level, two sons and a wife.
But he'd recently acquired the ability to sense the future, and it looked grim.

Fire, death, fear, destruction

All caused by one man: Frieza.
The self-proclaimed Emperor of the Universe, an intergalactic tyrant with a distrust of the Saiyans.

Bardock had sensed that Frieza planned to destroy Planet Vegeta, and that included Bardock's family.

"Gine" said Bardock to his wife, "Where are Raditz and Kakarot?"
"Raditz is off world with the Prince and Kakarot is the nursing capsule" Gine replied, "Why do you ask?"
"Frieza plans to destroy the planet. Find a pod, we need to get Kakarot of this planet"
Even with no evidence, Gine believed her husband without question. Working together, they smuggled a pod away and packed a young Kakarot into it.

"Are you sure that the planet you've found is safe Gine?"
"Absolutely. The inhabitants are no threat to Kakarot and no interest of Frieza"
Gine closed the pod door.
"He'll be fine Bardock"
"I hope you're right"
They both turned as Frieza's ship appeared in the sky above them.
"Listen Kakarot" Bardock started "you're too young to remember this but we're your parents. We are doing this so that you, and our race, can live"
"That's right, we're your parents and we love you. We would come with you if we could"
They paused.
Inside the pod, a confused Kakarot reached out and pressed a hand against the glass from the inside.
Bardock did the same from the outside, Gine followed.
"Goodbye son"
"Survive"

The pod launched.

"Our son is safe Bardock, we've done all we can"
"Not yet. I'm not going out that easily"
Gine paused, blushed, then smiled, crying.
"I knew you'd say that, but I still didn't want you to"
"I have to try Gine, goodbye"
Bardock flew off, in the direction of Frieza's ship.

After barging through Frieza's soldiers, Bardock came face to face with the tyrant himself.
"Frieza! Why are you doing this? The Saiyans are loyal to you completely!"
Frieza laughed
"That may be so but you're becoming too much of a hassle, your time is up"
He raised a finger, a small orange orb glowed on the tip.
Bardock concentrated an orb of energy in his hand.
"Feel the fury of the Saiyan race! Frieza!"
Both threw their attacks.
Unfortunately for Bardock, Frieza's attack grew. And grew, and grew, until it was bigger than the planet's moon.
Bardock's attacked bounced off the supernova.
The supernova slammed into Bardock.
So this is my end? Damm you Frieza. Kakarot, Raditz, avenge us. Gine, I'm sorry I couldn't protect you.

Bardock's vision turned dark.
