"Good morning Mr. Hanstetter, do you want room service to pick up trash again tonight?"
"If it's not too much trouble Janice. Thank you."
He made his way through the lobby to the exit doors of the hotel. The smell of saltwater, and the warmth of the sun made him reminisce his time in this town on vacation. He approached the valet parking area to the right of the building.
"Hello Mr. Hanstetter, I'll send for your car."
"Thank you Marcus, no rush."
"Headed out to fish again sir?"
"Yeah" Curtis paused "I haven't caught what I'm after yet."
"I'm sure you'll catch it, you've been doing this your whole life."
Just at that time an assistant pulled up with his car.
"Anyway Mr. Hanstetter have a good day, and good luck catching the fish."
A few minutes down the road and he'd made it to the dock. Down the splintered and worn walkways, past the yachts, and there she was, a rusty fishing boat dawning the name "Pivot Point".
"Good morning Curt, you back for another day?" Jim said chuckling.
"Yes Jim, we need to get closer this time."
"Curt security ships are patrolling the area, we can't get in closer, hell they probably suspect us after they stopped us last week."
"I don't care what they suspect, we are going to get closer or I'll find another washed up fisherman to take me out there." He said this with anger then looked over at Jim. "Sorry, I just need to figure this out."
"Look Curtis I don't know why you are so interested in that rig, and I don't care to know, but you can't let this control you. Whatever the past is just let it be the past."
"Thanks Jim, but I've got to do this, you ready?"
After hours of sailing the came into sight of the construction zone.
"Drop the nets Jim." Curtis said while holding binoculars tight to his face.
For hours they watched the massive construction site, helicopters coming in with steel beams dropping them onto a platform then cranes and crewmen maneuvering the materials onto a crane, and eventually onto the structure. SAVIOR was massive, it followed his designs very similarly, basically a steel structure protruding out of the sea it had two massive silos reaching out to the sky. GALIVASKI was stamped vertically on the side of the building.
Suddenly a buzzing sound, Curtis looked around frantically then saw a helicopter beaming straight towards the structure. This was unlike the others, it was made for travel not hauling materials.
"Jim we gotta get closer, something's happening!"
Moments later he could see the landing pad, off the helicopter came Phil, he was carrying a briefcase. Escorted by two body guard types he quickly disappeared into the structure.
About twenty minutes later Phil reemerged same two guards following him, this time no briefcase. He got back onto the helicopter, and upon taking off they headed directly west of the structure.
Curtis continued to survey the construction, but after about an hour of Phil's departure there was a loud boom sound that came from SAVIOR. Curtis focused on the base of the structure. There was silence then a loud inescapable grinding sound and a jarring of water directly underneath the steel leviathan. Waves soon began to stir up the water making the " Pivot Point" rock uncontrollably. In an attempt to keep his view Curtis grasped the side of the ship he could see the silo turn red as it heated.
"Drilling already. That son of a bitch."
Just then a wave caught the boat, causing Curtis to lose grip of his binoculars, he dropped them directly into the water. In another moment sirens began to ring from the structure, Curtis could plainly see an boat headed towards them. It was just like the one that had stopped them from being in the area last time.
"We gotta go Jim. NOW!"
Jim raised the nets dumping full nets of fish back into the water, made his way to the control room and fired the engines to full blast. Curtis could see the ship that was heading towards them veer off and turn back, but he instructed Jim to head back anyway. The trip back was silent.
