Once upon a time there was a handsome king. This ruler's kingdom was extraordinary. He lived in the grandest of all castles in the land. In the center of his resplendent palace garden, thrived a breathtaking, magical tree. It was the king's pride and joy. The tree had black bark and silver leaves. The apples the tree bore were golden and had the sweetest of flavors.
One day, when walking on the path around his wonderful garden, he noticed some of the fruit was missing. He flew into an outrage. "This is unacceptable!", he boomed. "For no one, except for me, is allowed to even touch my tree's bearings!". The king was never angry, but when he was, everyone was upset. Everyone in the palace was lined up and questioned. But he couldn't figure who stole the magical fruit. Even though guards were put around the tree from sunrise to sunset, apples still mysteriously went missing.
Finally, one night the king himself decided to spend the night outside to once and for all seize the thief. It was around midnight when the king, who was hidden in a shrub near the tree, saw something. A dark figure in a black cape snuck to the tree, climbed up, then proceeded to gather golden fruit from the tree branches. When the thief reached for an apple that had fallen near the king's hiding place. He reached for the arm. The slender, delicate hand could only be female. She screamed and squirmed, writhed and wailed, but it was to no avail. The king was much stronger than her so it was not too difficult to hold on. The king ordered for her to stay and be cleaned up. The she-thief had no choice.
The next day, the girl was washed, scrubbed, brushed, pinned, pulled, and clothed. The curls in her brown hair were enhanced and fell around her shoulders. She donned a beautiful sky blue dress; it was the same shade as her eyes. She was presented to the king before breakfast. While sitting regally on his throne, The king realized how scared and anxious she seemed. He, unkinglylike, rushed over and grasped both her hands in his. She was afraid to look him in the eyes. The king spoke softly and slowly. "If you marry me, I will promise none of the charges against you will be pressed." After much hesitance from her and assurance from him, she agreed to marry the king.
They were married four days later, and lived in his large castle for the rest of their life. Both wished for a large family, and large they did. Two elegant princesses and three handsome princes.
For years, they were happily settled down in the kingdom. Every day as the family walked in the palace garden, the queen observed the magical tree and thought about how a single inanimate object changed her life from a starving, poor, thief to a queen with six children and a loving husband who was king.

A/N: Soooo, if you can't tell, this is a slightly different story.
I was going through my google docs, and I came across this from September 10th, 2016. It's cool to see how much my style has changed since then. This is completely unedited. Hope you enjoy!
