I was staring at my plate for quite some time now that I have lost count of the minutes.
"What are you looking at? Are you making some invisible drawing with your eyes?" Taehyung bent over and looked at my plate.
"I am actually thinking...while looking at the bell peppers..." I replied with composure, if I had some left.
"And what exactly is this creative thinking?" he sounded bemused.
"You know just...why capsicums are called bell peppers when they are red or yellow? And how lovely these colours are looking over this white ceramic plate..." I smiled back at him.
He was looking at me with a blank look on his face as he responded after few seconds of silence, " You know that your words don't make sense, right?"
" Yeah, I am totally aware of that and I would have appreciated if you did not say that out loud to me." I pushed back my chair and excused myself to leave the table.
I came out to the balcony to get some fresh air. I had no idea why I suddenly felt angry over his statement when what he said was true. I was talking ultimate rubbish and I knew that well but his repeating it in words just irked me up. My moods were all over the place for the last few days and I had no idea about it. I was actually quite happy within the past few days , As lot of things had been happening with us involving in making plans for a perfect proposal for Shin Ae and we coming up with ideas and helping Jungkook to win over his ladylove's heart. It was all going well until he showed up.
"Hey, Why did you abruptly leave?" Taehyung followed me out and suddenly demanding answers for my actions were like an added fuel to my blazing mood.
"I just felt like leaving." I looked away at the endless horizon trying to avoid making an eye contact.
"Let's go back....come on.." He held me by my hand trying to pull me closer to him.
I jerked off his hand, voicing out my annoyance. "I don't want to go back. I will go when I feel like it , not when you will order me to do it."
" I can order you as you work under me. I am responsible for your well being as your senior." He sounded worried serious but this time I looked into in eyes, meeting up his gaze because I was no more buying his unreasonable excuses.
" You know what, your words don't make sense. You are not my higher up here, in this restaurant and you don't really need to look out for me or my actions. Talking about responsibility, I am glad you think that you can be responsible when it comes to women and their feelings."
He looked shocked and I could see his adam's apple move when he gulped down all the words of appreciation I charged at him.
"You know me since we were kid, Ji Euna. You know that I have always cared for you. You are like a part of my family. You are my best friend's sister. You are special." He held me by my shoulders trying to steady himself while conveying his emotions.
"Your best friend's sister wants to thank you for being this kind and affectionate. But right now, you totally ruined this entire "girls day out" thing by interrupting us with your presence." The more he talked, I felt my anger radiating through the conversation.
His eyes were all over my face trying to absorb all the expression that was painted across it.
"Erhmmm.... Guys we need to leave, we have some other things left, remember?" Oh Jin was there at the right time cooling the heat of the moment and I nodded back at her, leaving my spot and following her not before giving back a last glance at Taehyung, who was still standing in his place with his fists clenched.
