Lady in Black
Alone
within the crowd
She
hides behind a veil of sorrow
Tears
roll down her cheeks
Fear
of what will be tomorrow
Alone
she mourns for him
She
hears not the preacher's prayer
Tears
fog her weary eyes
Fear
now he is no longer here
Alone
she says goodbye
She
places a rose where he rests
Tears
fall on his wooden tomb
Fear
draws pain to her chest

walks away, not looking back
