Mark's POV

The second my plane touched down, my phone was in my hand.

"Dude," Ethan said through a laugh, "Relax. She is still going to be there whether you call her now or in ten minutes, we still have to get through baggage claim." I made a face, hating that he was right.

"Fine," I sighed dramatically, "I will make the love of my life wait to hear my beautiful voice for ten more minutes." Ethan rolled his eyes, and behind me, I felt a strong hand land on my shoulder.

"Cheer up, Mark," Tyler said as we walked toward the spinning belts, "You can still bore us all to death with your beautiful voice." I perked up.

"You're right!" I said, ignoring the backhanded part of the backhanded compliment. Ethan groaned. I couldn't tell if it was because he was lifting a heavy suitcase off the belt or if he was making that noise in my general direction.

"Tyler, why. Why do you encourage him?" He asked, and Tyler just chuckled as I stuck my tongue out at him.

"He's entertaining." Ethan just scoffed, sitting on his suitcase and looking between the two of us.

"Maybe to you," Ethan said, "But I have to deal with him all the time. A grey suitcase rolled by, and Ethan grabbed it and handed it off to Tyler.

"And I had to deal with him for years before you got him, and he was way more annoying then," Tyler laughed. "Suck it up, it's your turn." Ethan just shook his head as Tyler took a seat on his own luggage.

"You guys, I am right here," I said, making another face, and the two of them tactfully ignored me. I huffed, but immediately set that aside when I saw my red suitcase roll out from under those weird flappy curtains at the end of the belt.

"Ah, finally! My stuff!" As soon as it cam rolling by I claimed it, and the three of us made our way toward the airport doors.

"How are we getting home?" Ethan asked out of the blue, and I turned and gave him a look as we walked.

"Oh, now you want to know," I said with an attitude. "Well, someone was going to call his girlfriend and ask her to pick us up but someone didn't want me to." Ethan began to splutter.

"Well if you had told me that!" He began, but I waved it away.

"Too little too late, my dear boy. Alas, we will be stranded out here for another-" I checked my watch. "-Like, 20 minutes." I laughed as Ethan huffed, sitting on his suitcase again as we came to a stop in front of the exit doors.

"Stop complaining, I'm calling her now." And true to my word, my phone was already to my ear. I shushed Ethan's complaining as it started to ring, and continued to shush him as the line kept ringing.

"Weird," I said, pulling away after about 15 seconds, "No answer."

"No worries, we can call an Uber," Tyler said, pulling his own phone out, but it wasn't 'no worries'. Not once during the whole trip had she not answered one of my calls, but the day I get back, she doesn't?

"Alright, Uber's here in ten," Tyler confirmed, pulling me out of my thoughts. Ethan cheered, and I tried to shake off the feeling that was bothering me.

"Sweet," I said, "Remind me to pay you back when we get back to my place." Tyler began to shake his head, and I knew he was about to start with that you-don't-need-to-pay-me-back nonsense.

"This is supposed to be your vacation, remember?" I reminded him, because it was likely he'd already forgotten. "You shouldn't be paying at all, but I'm letting it slide." Tyler waved his hand, but I saw a smile on his face as he turned away.
