"You want a kid?" I asked Jess, I put my Joycon down on the glass coffee table in front of the couch we were at. I shifted my body to face Jess. "Yup. Here I'll show you what I've been working on. Give me a second." She replied as she quickly jumped off the couch to run upstairs. She came back down with a thick stack of papers and dropped them on the coffee table. She sat down and stared at me, it was her way of saying Pickup the papers. I reached for the stack of papers. It was at least two inches thick all put together nicely with a staple at the top left corner. I looked at the first page. It was explaining everything about childcare. The second page was very interesting. It was talking about the pros and cons of children.
It was clear that the pros outweigh the cons for her. They didn't seem too bad to me either. I turned to the next page, it spoke of the ways that Homosexuals have kids; Fostering, adoption, and insemination. I looked up at Jess who hadn't said a word since she dropped the papers on the table. "Would you want to inseminate?" I asked her, I was curious if she'd want that at all. "I don't know. It's just there in case if you'd be okay with it." She said to me gesturing at my belly. I looked down at my slender figure, rubbing my belly. "Yeah...not right now. Sorry." I said looking at Jess. She motioned her wrist as if to say "no problem".
I turned the page as I switched my gaze at the paper, it was talking about the different challenges your kid may have if they're special needs. "Special needs sounds good to you? Sounds good to me." I said looking back at Jess who then handed me another booklet from under the seat cushion. "You had that under there this whole time?" I asked her about to laugh at the hiding place. "Yup. The whole time. Now go read up I gotta go get water." She instructed me as she got off the couch and walked to the kitchen. I looked at this endless booklet of challenges. Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Aspergers, physical handicap, to name a few.
I then referred back to the two inch thick packet and looked at the challenge packet as a reference as I read more. Jess came back a few minutes later and put her cup of water on a coaster before falling lazily onto the couch before propping herself up. She took a sip as I was almost done reading both packets. A few more minutes passed and I was done reading. "Well?" Jess asked me staring at me with an odd glare. "I'll tell you what." I said as I rolled the packets up to put them in my pocket. "Why don't we talk about what method we'd like to have this kid of ours." I said as I grabbed Jess's cup for a sip of water as I was too lazy to get up and get one myself. "Okay. So how do we feel about insemination?" Jess said quickly as she snatched her cup back from me. "So we'd need either a close friend or a bank to give us what we need." I replied in a matter of fact kind of way
"Right. But it can get ugly with a friend so let's rule that out." She said as she grabbed a paper out of her back pocket and took a pencil off the coffee table. "Good point. How do you feel about carrying a kid in you for nine months?" I asked her looking at her adorable belly. "Hmm... I could be okay with that." She replied nodding her head. "Should we check with the gynaecologist tomorrow if we can get in?" I asked her, my voice was getting higher from excitement. "Yeah let's do that." She said as she pulled out her phone to call their office.
"Yes hi this is Jessica Redd date of birth March 10, 1987 I'd like to schedule an appointment to discuss my health with my doctor." She said with true authority in her voice. "Tomorrow at 1pm is fine." She said grinning, this made me grin. "Thank you. Goodbye." She said, ending the call as calmly as possible. When the call was over, she threw her phone onto the couch between us. I pulled her off the couch to bring her to an area that had nothing delicate that we could hurt. I then grabbed her waist in both hands, She did the same to me. I looked into her eyes and she looked into mine. We then started jumping and screaming at each other unable to contain our excitement.
