Maybe it's better not to care, too bad that's all we can ever do.In life things come and go, people leave, and thoughts return from the black holes of our mind. It's the moment we get attached that ends up hurting us in the end. We are human and we cannot go through life alone. Sometimes we don't get to pick who we want in our lives like the candy we do in the drug store. But we should never regret who we've met, because we should never forget the way someone has made us feel.

"Hey be careful with her she's sensitive!" The boy next to me whines after I slam the door shut of his old red pick up truck. I turn to him, roll my eyes, and take in what he was wearing. He was in a black sweatshirt and grey shorts, the exact opposite of what I told him to wear, "Daniel Gilbert! I told you to wear the clothes we bought at the thrift store! You look like you just got out of bed!" His hair was sticking out in different places and the bags under his eyes meant he was probably up late playing fortnite again. "First of all I did just get out of bed and second, chill Em! I got them in them in the back don't worry about it. We spent way too much time at Goodwill yesterday just to leave those clothes at home." Danny rolls his eyes and starts the car. "And what about the mess of the hair you have? Do you not own a hair brush or something?" I scold him, today was one of our many shoot days, he should know by now how serious I take them. I mean how hard is it to brush your hair? "You sound like my mom." He says giving me a quick glare before looking back to the road. "Be quiet, you know how stressed I get over these things. Did I tell you, my photo of you that I took last time got like fifteen thousand likes?" I ask him, looking over to him. "Are you serious? That's crazy Emily! I'm so proud of you!" He reaches over and ruffles my hair. I smack his hand away. Blushing, I could feel the tips of my ears turning pink. I look back over and to him and he gives me his million dollar smile.
Danny has always had that affect in people. He was flirty and knew just how to get his way by doing it. Which makes liking him a hundred times worse, cliche for me to like him, trust me I know. But I can be myself around him, and that's what I like most about him. For now though, this little crush will stay buried and away from him. "Emily I know I'm beautiful but staring is kind of rude." He smirks as I snap out of my trance. My cheeks warm and I push his shoulder, "Shut up, gosh you're so full of yourself." I say a small smile playing on my lips. "Ya but you love it," he throws me a wink. I did, but I would never let him know. His ego was already the size of Texas.
I scoff, noticing the small smile etched on his lips. "So do you have any idea where we're going today? Not that I mind driving around it's just last time we were driving around for three hours." He gives me a side eye. I cringe looking back to last week, it was one of our best shoots but it took forever to find a spot. We drove around for about three hours until I settled on a retro diner in the middle of nowhere. After taking some pictures, we had some burgers and milkshakes. It was a good day, the shots were great, and spending some alone time with Danny was just the cherry on top. "I don't really know honestly, maybe an old farm or like a lake or something?" I looked out the window. It was a gloomy day, the sun hidden and a blanket of fog on the ground. I turn back to him and be nods,"Sounds good."
I grab the aux cord, connecting my phone. Just as I was about to go on my Spotify playlist, my phone was snatched from my hands. "Hey! Give it back ya dim wad!" I yell at him. "You got to pick the music last time, I'm not in the mood for indie music." He says shrugging oblivious to my glares. I reach for my phone one more time but he was too quick. "You don't even know if I was going to play indie music!" He gave me a look, he knew me too well. "Ugh fine whatever just don't play-" right as I was about to finish my sentence the speaker start blaring and the whole car starts vibrating. I cover my ears from the rap music playing. "What the hell!" I yell over the music. Danny is laughing, bumping to the music as his brown hair flops up and down. "What?" He yells over the music a grin on his lips. I rolled my eyes, giving him my favorite finger. It was going to be a long day.
