I watch as Marinette tries to sneak into the class, without being noticed by Mrs. Bustier. Typical Marinette. Surprisingly, Mrs. Bustier doesn't notice her and continues teaching the class. I pull out my phone and decide to text LB.
Chat_Noir: Having a swell time in class?
I quickly shut it off and place it back in my pocket, being sure the Mrs. Bustier didn't see. "Now Class, today I will be handing out your assessment for this unit" She continues to explain the assessment, I felt a vibration in my pocket, I'm honestly surprised she replied during class. She seems like a rule follower and somewhat like a goody-two-shoes. Apparently, I was wrong. I wait for the perfect moment to check my phone and see a message from her, saying:
_Ladybug_: Shouldn't you be paying attention in class?
I try my best to hide a chuckle and reply with:
Chat_Noir: I would like to ask the same for you Bugaboo
"So, the Partners are; Kim and Juleka, Mylene and Max, Adrien and Marinette, Alya and Chloe, Nino and Sabrina, Ivan and Rose and Nathaniel and Alex." I'm partnered with Marinette, awesome. But I feel bad for Alya who was partnered with Chloe. I look back at Marinette, who gave me a smile, I gave a smile in return before turning back to the teacher. "Ok, can you swap desks to sit with your partner as I am going to hand out the assignment to you guys" Everyone starts shuffling around and I stand up and move to sit next to Marinette.
"Hey," I say to her, she gives a small wave and turns back to the teacher. I could tell she was nervous, I don't know why, is she scared of me? If so, what did I do that scared her? I put my mind off those thoughts as Miss Bustier hands out the assignment. The assignment is a book v movie comparison report, each pair decides what franchise we want to work on. I feel a vibration in my pocket but decided to ignore it for now as it would be too risky to do it without getting in trouble.
"You can use the rest of the lesson to choose what book-movie adaptation you want to work on"
"So, do you have any idea what franchise you want to work on?" I asked Marinette, since I don't really have any ideas.
"wel-l-l act-u-ually I was thinking that maybe we could do o-one of the Harry Potter books?" Marinette stutters to me, I haven't read any of the books or watched the films, but I have heard it is good.
"Ok, I honestly haven't read or seen any of them, but it does sound like a fun thing to compare." Marinette stared at me in shock.
"You haven't seen or read Harry Potter?" I shake my head, immediately regretting my response because of the look on her face.
"OK, we are DEFINITELY having a Harry Potter Marathon, unless you want to read the books first?" Marinette sounds very excited about this. It's kind of adorable.
"The marathon sounds like fun, want to do it this weekend?" Marinette was startled with what I said.
"You know that there's 8 movies, right?" She asked "We would have to have a sleepover if we wanted to watch them all in one sitting"
"I'll probably have to double to check with Natalie but I'm sure I'm free to do so, are you ok with it being a sleepover and all?" I could tell Marinette wasn't sure of if she wanted to do it or not. "You don't have to decide now, it is Monday after all. I'll just give you my number and you can text me when you've decided, ok?" She nods, and I write my number down on a sticky note. "So, do you want to choose the first book, or do you want to choose another one?"
"I-I don't mind" She stutters again, "Do you want to maybe do the fifth book because it's the longest book in the series but the shortest film overall."
"It would be interesting to see what they left out or changed" The bell rang signaling the end of class and me and Marinette packed up my things. "So just text me if you want to catch up, ok?" She nods, walking over to Alya to head out for recess. I walk over to Nino and we both walk to our lockers. "So what book-movie adaptation have you and Sabrina chosen to do?"
"Lord of the Rings, it mainly was Sabrina's choice, but I have seen the movie, so I just have to read the book." I don't think Nino realizes how long that book is but I keep it to myself, "what are you and Marinette doing?"
"Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix"
"Have you even read or seen the Harry Potter series?"
"No, but hopefully this weekend me and Marinette are going to have a marathon of the movies and I can easily read the books." We open our lockers and I quickly check my phone from when it went off and see a message from LB saying;
_Ladybug_: You sure are a troublemaker
I chuckle at her comment and was about to reply when Nino poked me in the shoulder. I look up and see him pointing at a crowd surrounding the notice board. Me and Nino walked up and see a sign saying;

DATE: OCTOBER 19TH
THE THEME FOR THIS YEAR IS THE MASQUREADE BALL SO REMEMBER TO BRING A MASK
I could tell everyone was ecstatic despite it still being a few months away. I honestly was excited too because this could finally be my chance to finally ask out Ladybug.
