After minutes of arguing and complaining, I knew she was close to done with me. "In the human world, as fuck buddies, I didn't think I'd have to "dump" you first in order to kiss someone!"She had me there... Vampire and Human customs were similar yet not. Vampires are more primitive, which is why to be mated is to belong to one another only under the circumstances that they have feelings for one another. She won't see it that way, though. I scoffed. "You still should've said something... you and I both know something was happening between us, and then he came into the picture. If he didn't show up you... you would've fallen for me," I said carefully, however my tone was more than frustrated.
Her eyes grew larger, wider, as she processed the information. I was probably right, and she knew that. "Would you have preferred it that way? That I fall for you?" She asked slowly.
"Yes, I would," I said, shocked by my own sincerity. I calmed as a moment of clarity sunk in, as though something had risen from my shoulders. A weight I couldn't lift off until this moment. Her eyes grew in the slightest and her pupils doubled in size. I exceedingly became excited yet concerned and different little things floated around in my stomach.
"No!" She almost shrieked. "Rowan... I am here to leave you and whatever we have going on between us. I have to do something for myself for once in my life... something good. And you aren't good for me..." I heard her whisper the very end, and my shoulders heavied again. It took me a moment to realize something important though... something I hadn't really thought of. She was still confused, and it was more obvious than I thought just second before. She was still standing there, right in front of me.
"Aria... listen to me..." I grabbed her hands, pulling her closer. I noticed her slowly relax at my touch. "Give me some time to prove to you I'm someone more than what you've heard or assume..." I didn't really have an idea about how I'd do that.
"Rowan... what could you possibly do?"
It felt as though sweat had begun to leak from my forehead. What could I do? I stood there, body frozen in place with no clue of what to say. If I didn't say anything soon, she'd leave for good. I knew it. Aria stared up at me, eyebrows furrowing in a doe-like curiosity.
Something popped in my head that made me swallow hard before stuttering it out like a goddamn fool. "A-a date! Let me take you out... normal people do that, right?"
I heard her scoff, but she didn't say anything further than that for a moment. "Aria... let me treat you, and I'll prove to you I'm good..." I said as I pulled her closer, my eyes looking from beautiful eye to beautiful eye.
I watched her take a moment to think but I could feel her hands relaxing in mine as I gently circled my thumb against hers. She was leaning more towards a date... I could feel it. A heart I didn't know I had fluttered when she smiled a little and sighed in defeat. "Fine... but fuck it up and you will never see me again."
I grinned and wrapped an arm around her waist. "You got it," I said with a flirting lilt.
She rolled her eyes and pushed me away. "Tomorrow, seven o' clock." She smirked and headed to the door.
"Aria," I grabbed her hand quickly, my mind wondering to asking her about staying the night but... as people who date... well that doesn't happen. "You... I have your phone. I found it in your apartment when I was trying to look for you yesterday..." I said softly as I pulled the object out of my pocket. "It's dead, sorry."
She took the phone, smiled, then strolled out. I felt so relieved and ecstatic. What an amazing woman. My chest rose and fell quickly as I found my way back to the bed, plopping down on it like a child getting ready to listen to a bed time story.
I had to start planning. No matter what, I'd show her who I was.
