"Savannah! Savannah!" The guy's voice yells for me from down the hall.
I quicken my strides toward the exit, not wanting to face the guy that just crushed my heart. Just as I go to push on the door there is a gentle tug on my arm causing me to stumble backwards a few steps toward him. Instantly I wrap my arms around myself, tears falling uncontrollably down my face making a noise as they splatter onto the cold stone tiles.
I frown while sniffling, "What could you possible want? Haven't you, done enough?"
"Savannah I'm sorry," he puts his hands in his pockets.
I shake my head, more tears forming, "You've done enough Ethan. I couldn't have expected you to do anything this low to me, it's painful. Why don't you just go back to her and stay the heck out of my life. I wouldn't care if I ever see you again!"
"Sav-" Ethan begins as I push my way outside of the building.
For minutes I run as fast as I can down the pavement, feeling as if he would chase after me but I know he won't. I stop, gasping for air realizing that I literally just ran for five minutes nonstop which is a record for me. Glancing around to see where I ended up I spot a local talent show sign ups along with the talent show in a few hours. Heading into that direction, I instantly scoop up a entry form and fill it out with what I was doing before carefully returning it along with the entry fee.
"Thanks dear, mandatory time to be back is in three hours for the show. I hope to see you back in that time," the woman with balky glasses says to me taking my form back.
Meekly nodding, "I'll see you in a little while!"
Unsure why I just signed up for the talent show I head back to where my car is parked to find a note stuck under the windshield wiper. Taking it out of the spot it is tucked in I read it carefully.
Savannah,
I know I was wrong for what I did and I don't expect you ever to forgive me. Hopefully in the future you will forgive me for what I did and we could have a chance to be friends. Until then I hope people discover the wonderful talent you have that you've only shared with me. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone what you can do that makes you special compared to anyone else.
Until that time comes,
Ethan.
Inhaling deeply I climb into my car, driving back home where I spot my best friend's truck parked in my driveway. As soon as I pull in I notice that she is flying out the door to greet me with some weird saying. Rolling my eyes not in the mood, I push past her to get into the house to realize that I have two and half hours left to get ready for the talent show.
"Hey chica! What in the world is your problem right now? I haven't done anything to cause this much pain to you have I?" She jumps up and down trying to follow me.
Turning to face her my eyes water, "No, but Ethan has done the pleasures of hurting me. Shay, I have two and half hours to get ready for a talent show that I literally just signed up for and I need your help. Why don't you go into my closet and pick me out something to wear that will be dress for the occasion."
"Talent show?" Shay bellows. "What exactly is your talent now Savannah?"
Giggling I pretend to hold a microphone, "I can sing if you believe it or not."
"That's a lie!" Shay shouts at the top of her voice.
I laugh until I start to feel a pain in my side, "I've never ever sang around you before so how would you know? Have you ever heard me sing?"
