In A New World (L x Reader)

Episode 6

Reader POV

Right now, there's nothing much to do. Light's in his room working out timelines while  I know the police are doing the same thing with L. Crazy how in sync L and Light's brains are. This is so boring. I have nothing to do. That's it. I'll just go out with Ryuk. No, not in a weird way, but in a nothing else to do way. 

I walk up to Light's room and knock on the door before coming in. I don't wait for a response and just walk in. 

"Yo, Light I'm borrowing Ryuk for a while ok," I say.

"Why do you need him?" He asks. 

"I was thinking we could go get some apples or something. I have nothing better to do, and if I had to choose between hanging out with you or Ryuk, I'd rather hang out with Ryuk." I say as I see Ryuk perk up at the mention of apples. Light just scoffs while I walk out, and Ryuk follows. 

I tell Mrs. Yagami that I'm going out for a walk and leave. Ryuk still following close behind. 

"So Ryuk, we haven't been able to talk much while I've been here, got any questions for me?" I ask him not really caring if anyone can hear me. 

"Yeah. Actually, why did you want to hang out with me rather than Light? He's actually human." He asks.

"Well, that's simple. I just find you more enjoyable to be around than Light, you know. All he ever talks about is being a god and killing L. It gets pretty annoying after a while. I also know all he would try to do is find out my real name. " I explain. 

"Ok, here's another. Light doesn't talk to me in public, but you seem to have no problem with it. Why is that?" Ryuk asks. 

"I'm not like Light. I don't have a reputation to uphold." I tell him.

"I know you might not want to hear this, but just out of curiosity, what is your real name?" Ryuk asks. I don't think it would hurt to tell him, considering he's not on anyone's side. 

"It's fine. I know you're not on anyone's side. The name's (y/n)." I tell him. As he then looks up. 

"How unusual. Right when you said that, the first part of your name became visible. Must mean you were telling the truth." He says. 

"Well, then it's a good thing I didn't tell you my full name. Now I know that people with the Shinigami eyes will only be able to see my first name." I joke.

"Last question. How do you know so much about us Shinigami, and what is gonna happen next? You psychic?" He question.

"As I said before, I'm not exactly from around here. I'm not psychic either. It wouldn't hurt to tell you this either. I'm actually from a different universe. It shouldn't be that hard to believe. I mean, you couldn't see my name. It's ok if you don't believe me too, it's not really all that important either. I can go back whenever I want or if I am killed. Though while I am here, I am missing in the other universe. This means the amount of time I am here in this world I am missing in the other one, and through out the whole time I have been in this universe, I should be a missing person's case back in my universe. This, I don't really care about. If I do choose to go back, I go back to the same age I was when I left. So if I died from old age in this universe, I would be sent back to my world as the age I was when I left. This is because I aged in a different universe, so the only record of my age in my universe would be the age I left at. So even as time passes in that universe, I don't experience it as I am not there. Though if I die in this world and wanted to come back I would have to start from the beginning, or to you, around the time Light get's the death note, but if I were to just leave then come back, I would continue from where I left off. It's kind of like saving and loading in video games, though much more complicated. Time stops in this universe because I have entered it and altered it, creating a third universe. So it's like there is your universe that continues without me. Then there is my universe, that continues with me. What I did was I took myself out of that universe and copied your universe and pasted myself in it. There are infinite amounts of universes, and I don't necessarily know how they all work, but this is basically all I know about this one. And before you ask, I am not a witch or anything like that, I just found a spell on the internet that I didn't think would work, tried it, and now I'm here. I do know the spell to get back, but I tried the spell for a reason. Does this clear up some of what is happening?" I ask after just explaining how the spell worked.
