Chapter 13!!!!!
Seth and I continued down the sidewalk until we came across a popular diner; LUCY"S DINER. It was about one, so there was a large crowd forming already. Seth and I sat down in a corner booth and ordered; I got some calamari, and Seth got a cheese burger. We ate in silence for the most part, whispers all around us. There wasn't any trouble with the waitor this time, thank God for that. Seth and I gazed at each other adoringly. Something red on Seth made me look away. I looked down at his wrist, where a fresh cut was scabbing. It wasn't as large as other cuts, but it did look painful. I picked up his wrist in my hand. He winced as I ran my finger across it.
"Seth..." I started, "Why?" I asked, not bothering to finish the question. I knew he knew what I was talking about.
Seth ignored me. He called over the waitor and payed the bill. In one swift movement, Seth was up on his feet, heading for the door. I quickly got up and went after him.
"Seth!" I yelled. He looked over his shoulder at me. I ran to him and grabbed him, "Seth, just tell me why!" I yelled again. I tried to kiss him, but he pushed me away. I felt hurt; worse than when I had sliced open my wrist, or when I knew I would never see my family again. I felt the tears swell in my eyes.
Seth saw my hurt expression and pulled me into a hug, "Cleo..." he started.
I stomped my boot down on his foot, and shoved him away from me, "LEAVE ME ALONE!" I screamed at him, tears running down my face. I ran out the door, and through the busy road, almost getting hit by a few cars.
I kept on running and running. I didn't know where to go; I couldn't go back to Seth's house, and I had no family of my own left. For once I was glad that I had taken track a few years back; I wasn't as tired from the running. I could hear Seth behind me, and I picked up a flat out sprint down the road. I had done the 100 meter relays in track. I kept at it for what seemed like hours. My muscels started aching, and I slowed down to a jog. I looked around as I jogged, seeing the woods surrounding me. My legs gave out, and I fell to the ground. I started sobbing as loud as I could, not caring about others hearing me. I pulled my legs into my chest and curled up on the ground. I cried for my dear Abby, for my loving parents, for losing Seth. I lay there for at least an hour. It was still light outside. I heard some distant footsteps, and soon I was engulfed into a hug. When I opened my eyes, Seth's face was there. My sobs grew louder. He hushed me, and pulled me into his arms.
"Cleo, honey, I'm so sorry." he whispered.
"S...Seth....just....just...go...go...away..." I choked out.
"Cleo, please forgive me. That was stupid of me. I can't live without you." he pleaded.
Seth pulled my body towards his and placed his lips gently on mine. He ignored the fact that I wasn't even kissing back. I just lay there, as his smooth lips moved against mine. As he pulled away and looked into my eyes, I could see how much pain this had caused him as well. I felt a small smile appear on my face, and Seth pulled me towards him again, crushing his lips against mine. I kissed him back this time, and wrapped my arms around him, tangling my fingers in his dark hair. His hands went to my waist, and under my shirt. I had forgiven him. He squeezed my breasts lightly, and then went down to my rear. He did the same there, and then placed his hands firmly on my hips. Our kisses got more intense, and he pushed me backwards onto the ground, his hands getting tighter on my hips. Our heavy breathing filled the forest. He straddled me, grinding slightly, then thrusting his hips back and fourth. I followed the motions, and after quite a while, we both lay on the ground breathless. Seth helped me up and walked me over to an area full of bushes. He pulled me behind some. It was as though we were in a cave; there was light, but we couldn't be seen by the outside world.
Seth pulled out a knife and handed it to me, "Seth...what is this?" I questioned, my voice shaking.
"Cleo, I want you to mine forever, and to be yours forever." he told me, his voice full of a nervous anxiety.
"But...what is the knife for?" I asked, unsure that I wanted the answer.
"I want your initials on me." he said
I gasped, "You don't mean...carving them into you?" he shook his head, "I can't do that, Seth! I can't do that to you!" I exclaimed.
"Cleo...please...especially with us spending time at Eric's house...if something happens...I want you with me forever..." he whispered.
I understood him, "I'll do it." I said, "But you have to do me too." I said firmly.
"No, Cleo!" he yelled. I looked at him in the eye, and then he nodded, "Ok."
