RIO PHILLIPS was a girl who tried desperately to fly under the radar, to not be noticed. She participated in extracurricular activities, never cleaned her room, and was just trying to survive in a dog-eat-dog world. She asked no questions and was given no answers, and she liked it that way. Until, a certain spiderling gets lost on his way home and is in need of directions, and changes her world, forever.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Rio has a twin brother, Elias*, and an adopted sister, Imogen*. I imagine that at first, Elias is cold towards her, because he "doesn't want to share his sister," but then eventually warms up to her, and begins to love Imogen as he does Rio. The three become inseparable, Elias being very protective of his sisters as soon as he enters high school. He is very apprehensive when he finds out that Rio has been going around the city canoodling with some random guy in spandex- "he could be a middle-aged man, Len, for God sakes!" - but soon becomes okay with it after Spooder-Man saves his life.
Also! Peter and Rio meet , as mentioned in the description, when Pete gets lost on his way home from saving lives and eating sandwiches, and since Rio is absolutely horrible with directions-not to mentioned freaked out because, c'mon, it's spider man!- she offers to show him a magic trick, keeping a spare deck(or even just a couple) of cards in almost every sweater in return.
Unfortunately, Elias becomes a casualty of the final battle in Homecoming, crushed by the falling debris of the plane, driven by Adrian Toomes, which leaves Rio and her family heartbroken. His death can cause a wedge between her and Peter, or with superheros in general, or, maybe even something unspoken with Liz. I mean, Liz leaves shortly after her father is arrested, and it wasn't her fault-the outcome is up to you. She may even start fighting crime in her own way, leading her towards journalism or police work.
Elias' death can lead to a sequel, if you want it to, placed during far from home, or it can close out the book.
