What do I think is good and true music in this world?
Well I'm glad you asked! (No one asked)
This is a portion of my ever growing list of good and true music I've discovered. Some of them I even know how to play!
The Theory of Everything Soundtrack by Johann Johansson, Harry Potter Soundtrack by John Williams, Cinema Paradiso by Ennio Morricone
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Theme (also by Ennio Morricone), Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, Now we are Free from Gladiator
Titanic Theme, Home Alone Theme (also by John Williams), Les Miserables Soundtrack, Star Wars Theme (John Williams again)
Chronicles of Narnia Soundtrack, How to Train your Dragon Soundtrack, Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack
Imagine Dragons, Taylor Davis, Dear Evan Hansen, Hamilton, Wicked, Into the Woods, The Phantom of the Opera, Jenny Oaks Baker, Beauty and the Beast soundtrack, most Disney songs
Classical Music, The Man in the Snowy River, and a few other really good artists that have since strayed from real music to try and adapt to what the world 'needs' and 'wants' nowadays and whom I have since stopped listening to.
Real good and true music doesn't need to have been criticized by a manager or follow the 'rules' and 'expectations ' laid by listeners of our time. Honestly, I don't even know who wanted this sort of stuff in the first place! It's not even music!
Music should come from the heart and soul and should express what the composer is trying to convey. It doesn't need an explanation, it doesn't require one.
Oftentimes I may sit down at the piano or pull out my violin and just play my feelings away, and it will usually evolve into music so expressive that others will believe it is a song I've memorized from a long lost composer of some sort.
I've often thought the same thing myself listening to others play their thoughts, feelings, and emotions off the top of their head.
Even those with no experience in music can feel the impressions conveyed through good music. Music is, after all, the universal communication system.
