"They say that I'm bad for you that's fine
Sometimes bad is a good time
Don't you be shy
Let me change your mind
Can't never have a one night only
But you don't need to be lonely
Come get to know me
Let me change your mind"

"Can you drop the girls off to Yaya's grandmother for me? I'm finishing up this contract for a new client and it's taking me longer than expected." I asked Jay as I used the editing software to highlight all the important factors of the contract. This is a five million dollar contract, so I'm making sure everything on this contract is perfect. It's going to be a seven to nine month project. My team will be designing and doing brand new ground up construction for an expanding software company. They're looking for a larger headquarters space and we're going to create it for them.
"Take your time. I know how big this contract is. I'll go get their spoiled asses. Don't be here too late though, KD."
"I'm not. This should take me about another hour max."
"Alright. Call me when you get home."
"I will boo." I waved to her before focusing back on my computer. It took me about forty minutes to finish revising the contract. I emailed the contract over to the legal department and shut down my computer. It's Friday, so I won't be back in the office until Sunday when Jay and I do our count. Next week our office will only be open until Wednesday, and it'll be closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving.
I really don't want to go to this extended visit, but it's more for Chas and not me. My phone started ringing as I was locking up my drawers. I glanced at the phone to see the familiar prison number. I silenced the call and went back to locking up. I completely regret going to visit Chance at all. I feel like all it's done is bring back all the memories I tried to bury. I should have just had his mom take Chasity to see him like I originally planned. I literally could have gone without all the stress he's added back into my life over the months. My phone started ringing again and I was about to silence it once more when I seen it was Ink.
"Hello, Devante." I answered the phone while making sure I had everything I needed.
"You still at the office?"
"I'm getting ready to leave. I'm locking up my office now."
"Come by my place." Ink and I have been spending a lot of time with each other when it comes to the weekend. The only weekend I don't spend with him is when it's my weekend to keep all the girls. We'll talk on the phone after I put them to sleep, but during the day I dedicate all my time to my babies.
"I don't know. It's already six." The last thing I want to be doing is driving home late. I cut it really close last time I came over to check out his condo and have dinner. I haven't been back since then, not wanting to chance it.
"You can always spend the night, or I can just come over to your place." I bit my bottom lip, thinking it over. I've never had anyone other than my family inside my house and I'm not sure if I trust Ink enough to invite him inside my safe place. On the other hand I refuse to spend the night anywhere without an overnight bag. Men don't be having shit at their places.
"I don't have anything on me to be spending the night anywhere and I don't know if I want you lounging around in my serene and peaceful paradise. You bring the wrong energies into your space and it throws everything off."
"Like when you were in my condo screaming and cursing about your brother in law?" I smirked while thinking back on it. I set the alarm on my office and made my way to the elevator.
