First tip: Think

It mostly matters on how and what you think. If you're a glass half empty kind of person, you might write more deep songs. If you're a glass half full, you might write happier songs or so called party songs. Me, I am more of glass half empty to be honest so my songs are deeper then most. However, I use more logical words and can come up with a lot of songs quickly. I haven't talked to another song writer yet so if there is one, please comment him/her so we can collaborate.

So, back to the songwriting. Write the song revolving around the topic you're thinking about. Like if you're thinking about water, you don't want to put volcanoes in your song. (unless making a simile or metaphor) You might start out thinking cool, deep, and wet. You should make them into more intense words though like chill, never ending, and drenched. People seem to notice your song more.
