The Elementalist (Book 1)

Chapter 1: Dream

A beautiful sunset held upon the window of Caleb's room falling down to the far distance and disappeared. Caleb's mom gently swaying the door open and called for Caleb to come down stairs for dinner, but he stayed for a while and feels the cold bursting wind from his window. Caleb was a good child to his parent and had a blond hair just like his mother's and tall, strong teenager. Caleb quickly checks his calendar and trace the date until graduation day and stormed off down stairs and smelled the freshly cooked roast chicken. They began to eat as they settled his father arrived from work, he thought of him working just like his father, earn money, and moving out from his parent's house.

After dinner he helped his mom bring the dishes to the sink and head up stairs and dream of his future on his own thoughts and his father opened the door staring at him on the bed for a second and have a little observation on his room seen he frequently enters it. They talked about his upcoming graduation and his future to be.

Later...

His dad leaves the room and Caleb prepared his bed to sleep. As he fell asleep he had a dream about him running from something in a forest he woke up from the bad dream and calms himself from panting as sweat drips down his sleeves as if the tension is to strong, But he forget about it and continued to sleep for the night.

Days go by and Caleb graduated and got a good job and moved out from his parents and started his life by his own in an apartment near his work. One night he dreamed about the "shadow monster" that is chasing him in the forest again but this time it was darker and he saw a mirror at the end of the thick woods and tried to reached for it, but he was interrupted and woke up from it , but he continued to sleep until the next morning.

Monday morning...

It was work day Caleb arrived early at work. As the day goes by a lot of paper works we're made and everything are going smooth in the office and Caleb got a good compliment from his manager and receives a promotion. Caleb was surprise. And thank the manager for it and promised to do his best at work.

After an amazing day Caleb went back to his apartment and took the day off. But this coming days he always dreams about the forest and couldn't sleep for a few days. His manager talk to him about his tardiness at work and asked him if he still loves his work and asked him about what he wants in his life, but Caleb was silent throughout the interview and just stared at the wall. Then his manager suggested that he just needs to take a day off and... But before his manager can finish Caleb respond to the last question of his manager that he wants to live in a magical world and his manager looked at him in a weird way and made him get his thoughts and relax for a day.

Later that night...

Caleb tries to get enough sleep for today so he can focus tomorrow and get himself together, but as he fell asleep the dream was there again every time he sleeps the dream was the same and the mirror is still there at the end Caleb tried to reach for it again and run faster so the monster chasing him couldn't catch up, as he reached the mirror it showed a reflection, but it's not him it had a white and a careless hairstyle, he touch the mirror and found out that it is some kind of a portal as his hand passed through. He looked behind and saw the shadow monster right behind him and he didn't hesitate to forced himself to pass through the mirror as a bright light appeared. It made Caleb wake up from bed and said to his thoughts that it couldn't be real and he rushed to the bathroom and washed his face with water and wipe it with a towel behind the door as he uncover his face he saw his reflection didn't move and had a white hair just like in his dream, he was shocked from it and touch the mirror and his fingers slips through and couldn't get it out later then his hand got sucked in and later more his whole body was sucked up into the mirror and landed into a lake.
