The Elementalist (Book 1)

Chapter 4: Getting Together

As the three made their way to the great hall they came across Gilbert.

Jordan and immediately recognize him.

"Your the star player of the thief gang". Said Jordan.

The thief gang is the one that defends highgrad from the "shadow monster".

What about the huge walla that surrounds the whole area highgrad? Caleb asked.

Liza and Jordan was still shock of excitement of meeting the star player.

The hallway was filled with silence as the group and Gilbert starred at eachother for a moment..

All of they recovered their focus, Liza and Jordan went towards Gilbert and they shaked hands.

Caleb joined them and had a little conversation.

At the great hall...

All the students or so called elementalist are all gathered around the hall. The student are divided by their year levels and the school adminstration in front.

Principal Gull stood up and began to announce a report from the watchers that one of the founders of the school that possess great and rare power, and also that elementalist is conquer by evil inside his heart. His is under the control of an shadow weaver how is garhering a swarm of troop to wipe the casters from Highgrad.

The shadow weaver is know as Ruthaz.

Liza then turned his head towards Caleb.

Caleb, by the way what's the verdict? Liza asked jumping through excitement.

I- I'm a Sun element and also an air element at the same time.

Jordan interrupted. "You're a Sun
Caster?" Jordan asked.

Yeah... I guess... what's wrong about that? Asked Caleb

There's nothing wrong about that or about you, but one thing that you can do is to join the gang and help defend the school. Gilbert explained.

After the announcements and feast everyone left the hall way as well as the group.

They meet outside the yard receiving the fresh air blowing from the east, leaves swaying along the wind.

What if we take our time enjoying to the stuff we love. Liza suggested.

Jordan made his way to the conversation. "That's a good way to spend time we get ourselves into the curriculum for a year".

Caleb denied to their suggestion.

Maybe we should... you know stu...

Before he finished Liza and Jordan loop their arms around Caleb with Gilbert pushing from the back.

Them pulled Caleb into his dorm.

As they made their way to the Townsquare Liza immediately remember about something.

Hey. I know where we should go.

Jordan scratch his head asking.
"And where is it?".

Liza replied with a big smile.

To the "Glassy Lanterns" i've seen it on the Vion Poster last time.

The group went to the market and saw a lot of people gathering in an area.

Where is this place you say? Caleb weirdly asked.

Gilbert pointed onto the group of people. "That would be our answer".

They get their selves closer and saw a line of people waiting to get inside.

Liza then said "Come follow me" they all followed Liza and made their way in front of the line and confronted a guard with a golden brown armor.

The guard then moves his big arm at the entrance blocking their way in.

Where do you think your going?
The guard spoke with a rough voice. "The line is back their kids".

The crowd began grumbling and whispered a word "Habner"

Would your boss like to know that your blocking the way of "Liza Habner" inside?

No. Miss Habner. Come right in.
The guard let Liza in. But as the other three followed the guard blocked their way.

Caleb bravely face the guard and thinked fast. "We are miss Habner's bussiness partners".

The guard took a glance at the faces of the angry crowd and turning around meeting eye to eye with Liza at his back.

Finally the guard let them in.

As the got inside the room was filled with lanterns and a huge greek style coloums connecting the floor and the roof.

They all seated on a couch with a round table at their front.

"Quick thinking Caleb". Gilbert and Jordan cheered him gracefully.

Jordan and Caleb didn't know what to do. Liza clicks her fingers and three lanterns darts towards them from the ceilling.

Jordan and Caleb we're amaze of what they've saw.

Liza asked Caleb to pick one and he choose the shining blue lantern.

Liza then showed Jordan and Caleb the use of the lanterns. She inserted her hand inside it and the whole place turn into a hill side where there are tall tree, beautiful flower laying around, and wonderful scottland castle far off the distance.

But it all fade away as Liza lose focus.

Liza then gave the lantern to Caleb and inserted his hand into it .

Then the whole room turned into a really dark forest with a mirror at the end.

Calev suddenly realized. "This place looks familiar."

Gilbert saw somthing from the distance.

Everyone run!!

As Gilbert shouted everyone started to panic and run in one direction.

After a long run they all saw a mirror from a distance.

Caleb remembered it he ran for the mirror and didn't saw his reflection on it.

Liza noticed Caleb hair turned white.

Uh... Caleb your hair turned white.

Caleb glance back to the mirror and saw his hair turned white made him confused.

"The creature is getting close, hurry" Gilbert tensed up.

This was my dream. Caleb's memories began to restored into him. "This was my dream i got here."

Caleb remembered everything and tried to pass through the mirror, but his hands didn't slip through this time.

Caleb raised his hand towards the creature and a bright light shines from his hand.

And the creature disappeared.

That was amazing. Jordan laugh with joy on his face.

As the creature fades in thin air. The red skies turn blue and the trees grew leaves. Then everything faded.

Back at the room with the lantern on the table.

Liza confronted Caleb immediately.

What was that Caleb?

It was my dream from before.. before i got here. But it seems that the mirror changed that time.

Okay... so now what?

Liza decided to go to the nearby market place and buy new stuff for her room.

Gilbert also decided to take some fresh air near the fountian just right outside.

Caleb and Jordan stayed in the venue and continued to play with the lanterns.

Moments later.

It seems that we see each other tomorrow in class. Jordan waved goodbye to Caleb at his dorm.

Caleb changed his clothes and washed up.

He then prepared for bed.
