A/N: Hello my dears and dearhearts!! I'm sorry about the long time between uploads. My grandfather died yesterday, but he's been in the hospital for the past couple weeks. I'm gonna try to make up for it in the next couple chapters by posting a couple chapters in the next couple days. Let me know what you think!!

Once away from the small back county roads and onto the highway, Alyse knew there would be no way Alexion could keep up with her. Weaving in and out of lanes quickly, dodging around cars and even once, going under a tractor trailer, she lost him in a matter of minutes. She looked in her mirrors, then over her shoulder, and smiled when she saw not a glimpse of the shiny Lamborghini. As she chuckled, she clicked her blinker and exited the highway smoothly, cautiously moving past other cars on the single lane ramp. She drifted down the main strip inCovingtonand turned home. When she pulled into the driveway, she maneuvered around her sister’s car and hid the bike in the garage.

Wouldn’t be a good idea for anyone to see this, she thought to herself as she jumped off. I can’t believe I just rode a GSRX twenty miles in a skirt and no shoes. How stupid am I?

When she walked in, she was immediately assaulted by her sister’s bear hug.

“Where have you been?! When you didn’t come home last night, I called Hannah and she said there was a fight, then you just vanished and she found another way with some guy! So I called Beth and she said you were sick and didn’t come in today! What happened?!”

As Alyse sought to detach herself when her big sister’s strangling hug, she tried to explain that she had gotten into a fight. She told her everything that had happened the night before and this morning, leaving a few choice things out; such as the kiss, the talking about her birth parents and the whole ‘one of us’ thing.

When she was finally done, her sister insisted on looking at her injuries. With a swollen cheek, it was hard not to guess that she was still sore. After a moment of argument, Alyse walked into the bathroom and stripped so they could both look. At first glance at her front, there was not much to tell, except for the huge black and purple bruise on her right side. On her back and legs, the bruises continued and her arms and wrists were dotted with them. Alyse wondered remotely which ones she had gotten from the fights and which ones she had gotten from Alexion’s unrelenting hold. As her sister poked and prodded each new injury, Alyse was convinced no major damage had been done and everything was just superficial.

Basically, she looked worse off than she was.

“I’m fine Lindsey,” she said in frustration after her sister had gone over her body a second then third time. “It’s just a bunch of bruises.” But she knew that wasn’t true.

After everything that had happened the night before and this morning, her head was hurting something fierce. When she had first hit the wall, her hair had partially cushioned the blow, but getting hit again was almost more than her head could take. She rested her hands on her head in a nonchalant manner, but calmly traced the huge lump she found. When she pressed against it lightly, she flinched and had to hold in a cry of pain. Luckily, her sister’s back was turned so she never saw. Alyse held perfectly still as she ran her fingers over the edges of it and felt its massive size. While she was feeling it out, her sister had been talking and she hadn’t heard a word.

“What? What did you say?”

Lindsey sighed in irritation. “I said, we should go to the hospital. You could have some cracked or broken ribs or maybe even internal bleeding! I don’t know how to handle this! And I want to know how you got home. You conveniently left that part out of your story.” Alyse flinched.

This was the part her sister was going to hate.

“Well…about that,” she said slowly. Her sister froze and glared. “When I ran out to the house, I was in the middle of nowhere. I ran past a bike and saw the keys. I got lucky. I jumped on and took off.” She smiled timidly at her big sister that just wanted to protect her, but backed up a step when Lindsey stepped forward.
