By the time Madeline and Ivan were through with hitting the books, Dmitri had finished cooking supper and they had both invited her to stay for dinner -- since Nikolai was at his friend, Noah's house for the night. She had asked to use a phone so that she could call and inform Francis she was staying for dinner, much to his chagrin. Ivan had also came up behind her and stooped down so that he could whisper in her ear that didn't have a phone held to it. He pulled back with a grin, and Madeline looked over to him with a smile. "Ah.. um.. and also, Ivan would like me to go ahead and stay the night as well. Would that be alright, papa?" She listened to him for a few more moments, then nodded. "Alright, yes.. I know.. okay, then. Je t'aime, papa," She finished, then with another excited smile she flashed at Ivan -- they hadn't had a sleepover in years -- Madeline skipped to the kitchen to give Dmitri his cell phone back. The silvery-blonde haired Ukrainian nodded a thank you and smiled at her. "I'm glad you're staying.. just like old times!" He said while brushing his hands off on his pants, leaving streaks of powdery white flour on the dark material. "Oui, I'm very excited," Madeline replied, reaching out to give Dmitri a hug, happy that he was letting her stay the night.
After the trio had gotten through with the delicious supper, Francis had come around and dropped a bag off with clothes and such for his daughter. Madeline had given him a hug as well after he had gone through a list of what would not be permitted in a rare, strict, fatherly tone of which he repeated to Dmitri, causing his face to turn red. "U-uh.. nothing like that will happen, I a-assure you.. !" Francis had looked content with this, and left after kissing Madeline goodbye. Ivan stared after the retreating Frenchman's silhouette, his face also quite pink. He shook this off and put his arms around Madeline after approaching her from behind, which gave her quite a start. "Want to get inside? We could hang out in my room again, if you want," He offered after Dmitri had gone back into the house. She turned back to look at him. "Oui, sure.." Ivan grinned and released her from his hold, jogging back into the house and up the stairs into his room. The long-haired Canadian quickly stumbled after him and bid a goodnight to Dmitri whom she had nearly run into on his way to bed. She reached Ivan's room and pushed the door open. "So, when do you plan on sleeping, Vanya..?" Madeline asked, traipsing over to his bed and sitting on the edge with a yawn, also wondering about sleeping arrangements. Francis had told everyone that she was to sleep separate from anyone else in the household. Ivan looked over to her from where he was seated on his windowsill and shrugged. "If you're tired, we can sleep. But we can also talk to each other while trying to fall asleep like we did a few times before! I enjoy the catching up and all." He replied before hopping off of the ledge and walking over to her, sitting beside her on his bed instead. His lavender colored eyes showed hints of drowsiness as well as his expression did. "Ah.. I miss that.. " She murmured, thinking back to that particular time where she and Ivan had conversed on Arthur taking her away from Francis. "Well, great! I'm going to change into my pajamas, so you should too, da? You can change in my bathroom," He said, reluctantly getting up to dig through his dresser. Madeline hopped up from her spot as well and went over to look through her bag for pajamas. She immediately blushed a bright red at what her father had packed, quickly shoving the lacy thing back into her bag and standing up. "A-ah.. um.. could I borrow one of your shirts, Vanya?" She stuttered out, figuring that his pants would be quite too big on her, since his shirt would be more of a short, baggy dress on her. Better than that thing Francis had packed, she figured. "Da, sure." Ivan had figured out what had probably happened and tossed her a long, black shirt. She smiled gratefully and walked into the bathroom, taking care to shut the door behind her. Upon unfolding the shirt, she noticed that it had a large picture of a sunflower printed on it. Smiling, she tugged her other clothes off and slipped Ivan's shirt on.
Madeline headed out of the bathroom and stopped with a jump. Ivan was apparently not all the way dressing, and was pulling a shirt on over his torso. He had pants on, thankfully, but the sight of his bare chest had frozen her in place. Ivan brushed his ashen hair from his eyes and looked quite unabashed that she'd seen him with no shirt. He smiled. "You look cute in that shirt," The Russian teen even went on to say. Madeline laughed with a tinge of nervousness, sheepishly pulling the hem a bit farther down so that it almost covered the tops of her knees. "Merci.. Sorry that I didn't knock or something to make sure that you were finished.. !" She sort of squeaked out, still a bit flustered over it. Ivan only laughed. "Don't worry about it, I don't mind at all. Also, you can sleep in my bed, if you want." He said in a suddenly softened tone, not wanting to make her even more shy than she was at the moment. Madeline nodded, figuring he would sleep on his couch or on the floor like he normally did, and pulled the covers back on the bed so she could curl up between it and the sheets. She settled her head into his pillow with a soft exhale, indigo eyes fluttering sleepily. Ivan looked at her for a few moments before pulling the blankets back himself and laying down in front of her, violet staring intently into indigo. He broke the tension with a smile and a chuckle. "So, ah.. what's been going on with Maddi?~" Ivan asked, snuggling into his own pillow that lay beside hers. "A-ah.. well.. Hm.. " She tried to think of something interesting. "Oh.. ! I was on my way home from school earlier today and I ran into Abel.. he gave me a few tulips and sort of confessed his love for me.. It was really unusual.. but that's why I was a bit late coming to your house.." Madeline replied, observing Ivan's expression -- which quickly changed from interest into a sullen, sort of even angered look. "Ah.. do you.. feel the same way about him, then?" He all but growled in a low tone, since waking his brother and letting him see he was in the same bed with Madeline wasn't exactly on his to-do list. She bit her bottom lip, eyes clouded with thought and mixed emotions. She really hadn't thought about how she would respond to Abel's confession, honestly. "I-I mean.. I hardly know him -- !" Madeline's quiet whisper was abruptly cut off by Ivan quickly leaning forward and possesively pressing his lips to hers. She was taken aback of course, and her face immediately returned to its flustered state of pink; but didn't pull back - half in fear that he would be enraged at her, and half.. Well, she didn't know what to do exactly. She'd never kissed a boy, let alone one easily twice her size, and well.. it was Ivan, after all, so she gradually relaxed into the kiss, eyes fluttering closed.
Ivan's heat of the moment action lasted another few drawn out moments before he pulled away for breath, but it didn't stop him from sliding his arms around Madeline's smaller, more delicate frame and pulling her close. His face was buried in her wavy, golden locks and hers in his silvery gray. Both were breathless, especially poor Madeline, whose heart was fluttering. Ivan, however, didn't speak a word and simply drifted to sleep with the Canadian wrapped tightly in his strong arms.
