Chapter 2: The Fox of Shadows

Third POV

Naruto smiled at Kurama and hugged him, "No problem."

"Well, ain't this a touching scene." An unknown voice said.

They snapped their head to the direction the voice came from, only to find a fox gazing at them with a touched smile.

It was completely black in colour, with red streaks running down it's bushy tail. It's eyes were crimson red and slitted, similar to that of the Kyuubi.

"Who are you?" Naruto asked cautiously, aware that they were not alone in his mindscape.

"Who? Me?" The wolf chuckled to himself. "I am your shadow chakra, master. I do not have a name unless you give me one." The wolf answered as he bowed a little.

"What do you mean my 'shadow chakra'?" Naruto asked, even more confused.

"It seems when...it...happened, you unconsciously began to mix your chakra with Kurama's, and with all the dark thoughts you were thinking about, caused a reaction, thus creating me, your shadow chakra. With this chakra, you are now able to use Shadow Release," the fox explained.

"So...like the Nara Clan?"

"Yes, just more fast and deadly," the fox confirmed. "You should be proud, you know. This is an unknown affinity, and you're going to be the first one to ever use it." The fox said somewhat excitedly.

"Cool!" Naruto exclaimed in glee.

"So...are you going to name me?" The fox asked, hoping for something cool, not something like 'Fluffy'. Definitely not 'Fluffly'.

"Hmm...what about...Kuro?" Naruto suggested. The now named Kuro, smiled and nodded happily, while mentally sighing in relief.

"So you're going to make him stronger?" Kurama asked, annoyed that he had been forgotten by a mere fox about the size of his paw.

"No," Kuro replied, which confused the demon and blonde. "The question is...will master accept me and the powers?"

"Of course I will!" Naruto yelled. "And you can stop calling me master, we're companions. You're my chakra, and I'm your user. So we are one, while also two."

Kuro smiled at hearing that. "Put your hand on my head, and close your eyes," Kuro instructed. And he did just that. Kuro soon closed his eyes too.

"I, hereby name this young boy, Uzumaki Namikaze Naruto, the new Lord of Shadows. May the darkness assist him in his life."

Instantly, Naruto felt a new power rushing in his veins. New knowledge exploded in his mind, he grew an inch taller, a few strands of hair turned black, all his baby fat disappeared and gain some light muscle.

When Naruto opened his eyes, he smirked. "Welcome to the new you, Naruto." Kuro annouced, smirking deviously.

Naruto's POV

When I opened my eyes, I was still in the fire, hearing the villager's yells of delight for hearing me scream.

But this time, I was calm, completely ignoring the pain. I heard Kurama growl dangerously, "These villagers...they're so going to hell for hurting my kit."

I chuckled darkly,"Who said I'm letting them live?" A crazed smile made itself towards my face.

I could hear Kurama licking his lips in anticipation. "I like how you think, kit." I mock bowed in my head while saying,"Why thank you."

"Now...I just need to get out of these binds." Naruto thought, as he was still tied to a cross.

Third POV

"Listen to me Naruto." Kuro said inside Naruto's head. "Try channeling chakra to your wrist and shoot them out like a kunai," Kuro instructed eagerly, wanting to test out Naruto's new power.

Naruto did just as he was told, channeling chakra to his wrist, at the area where the ropes were tying him to the cross, and shot them out.

When he did that, pure black spikes that seem to be made from shadows, shot out of his wrist and cut off the ropes like hot knife through butter.

When Naruto stopped the chakra flow, the spikes retracted back to his wrist, which miraculously didn't leave any wounds.

Speaking of wounds, Naruto found that he was in perfect condition, just like in his mindscape. This got Naruto confused, and asked Kuro about it. He replied, "Oh, when you accepted me and my powers, I also took the liberty to heal you and any scars that might come out of this...incident."

Naruto grinned,"Thanks Kuro!" Which said fox replied with a smile, "No problem."

Kurama spoke up, "Now, kit. I believe we left off somewhere about revenge?" He chuckled deviously, and so did Naruto. "Kuro, any suggestion?" He thought for awhile. "How about killing all of them in one quick shot?" Kuro suggested. Naruto nodded, and listened intently while Kuro was giving instruction on how to use a Jutsu that could kill any enemy in all direction in a small range.

When Kuro finished explaining, Naruto stood up, and started making handsigns. Naruto's shadow started morphing and slowly turned into a circle the size of a medium coffee table. Naruto 'pulled' his chakra up and watched in fascination as blade-like tentacles made of shadow came out of the shadow pool and surrounded him in a circle, facing outwards.

When Naruto finished the handsigns necessary for the Jutsu, he slammed his hands on the floor, and shouted. "Shadow Release: Blossoming of Death!"

By now, a villager had took notice of the lack of screaming from Naruto, and was about to cheer that the hated demon was finally dead, when the blades shot out and impaled everyone within the range of the Jutsu.

The flames extinguished themselves with a large burst of pure dark chakra and revealed that it was none other than Naruto who casted the Jutsu.

The blades of shadow seemed to zig-zag between each of the victims abdomen, and true to it's name, formed a picture of a blossoming flower, with the shadows acting as the edges while the blood acted as the petals.

Which was the scene the Hokage and his ANBUs found Naruto in.
