Marriage?! Or not?

Cordelia's Pov

When Apollo grabbed my hand I was slightly red because I wasn't expecting him to grab my hand. I squeezed his hand and looked at him. He looked at me and smiled lightly. I looked at Aphrodite and she just gave the biggest brightest look I have ever seen. I felt Apollo lean into me a little bit and whispered in my ear.

Apollo: Sunshine, I want to talk to you later. Meet me in my house. 

He squeezed my hand a little bit and continued to eat and talk to Hermes. I looked at Aphrodite and whispered in her ear. 

Me: Apollo wants to talk to me after dinner. I am kind of nervous. 

Aphrodite: Don't be. I can see it in his eyes, I am pretty sure he has some very strong feelings for you. 

All I could do was smile and I could tell that a few of the other gods and goddesses were looking at me like I was nuts. It's fine, I'm the youngest and the favored. Hera stood up pulling Zeus along with her. 

Hera: So we have an announcement. I have been talking to my husband and Poseidon and they both have agreed with me. Poseidon, why don't you tell them the news.

I looked over to my father to see him smiling slightly but trying to hide it behind his rough exterior. 

Poseidon: We have decided to host a wedding for two of you. Cordelia, my princess. You are in need of a prince and we have decided that if you are alright with it, you and Apollo will be married. Not right away but very soon. 

Aphrodite, Apollo, Hermes, and myself all dropped our forks and just stared at my father. Apollo tightened his hold on my hand. I looked to a few of the others; Artemis was looking between Apollo and I with a slight smile on her face, Ares was playing it cool but he seemed happy, lastly I looked to Hades and saw him pleased with the decisions that his brothers and sister made. 

Me: So I a going to be married to Apollo?

Poseidon: We strongly advise for you two to wed, but overall it is up to you.  

Me: So if we agree then what exactly would happen. 

Hera: Then we would start to make plans and the wedding will be by the winter solstice. 

Me: So in four months. 

Zeus: Precisely. 

Hera: Apollo, you have been really quiet. What do you think about it? 

Apollo just sat there and I knew that something was wrong because he is never this quiet. I looked at him and his face was so straight faced, I have never seen him like this. 

Apollo: No. 

Zeus: What?

Apollo: No. 

Me: Wait, are you saying no to the-

Apollo: Yes, I am. I'm sorry Cordelia. I can't.

He let go of my hand and got up and walked out of the garden and went to gods knows where. I couldn't help but cry a little bit. I felt both Hermes and Aphrodite hug me and then we flashed to my house. The last thing that I saw was Artemis running in the direction of Apollo. Aphrodite and Hermes flashed us into the living room of my house. They kept holding me because they knew how hurt I was. Not even 10 minutes ago Apollo was holding my hand and telling me that he wanted to talk to me in private. 

Apollo's Pov

After I said no, I walked out and appeared in Delos. I walked up to the meadow and just sat thinking about Cordelia. I liked her a lot, but I don't think that I could marry her. She is amazing, but I am pretty sure that she could get married to anyone. I know that I was going to ask her to be mine, but if I push her away maybe she will be able to have a good husband. I am known as the player of the gods for a reason. I have the most kids out of everyone because I get attracted to women easily and I am honestly worried that she is just a fling. As I was sitting in the meadow thinking about Cordelia, I heard the voice of my twin sister.
