Adventures in the World of Pokemon

Journal Entry #2 (Syrus)

Date: September 16th

Wow! What a day, I'm glad it's over. To start things off, Sammy and I were almost late for her getting her first Pokemon, but thankfully we made it.

When we got there we met the professor, who was a nice woman with long flowing black hair. Her name was Professor Willow.

After introductions, she led Sammy and I to the back, where we saw at least twenty-one Pokemon. One third seemed to be fire-types, the other third were water-types, and the last third were grass-types. (Yeah, Chie taught all the types and type-match ups, they were pretty easy to remember surprisingly).

Willow had the starters line up and showed each of them to Sammy. Smiling sweetly all the while.

"Choose whichever starter speaks to you," she had said. "Take all the time you need."

Sammy's choice didn't even last two minutes, she already knew her starter: The water-type otter named Oshawott.

The said Pokemon let out a cry of joy and leaped into Sammy's arms. Sammy herself lifted the Oshawott in her arms and twirled around. Willow and I laughed all the while

Once the two were done, Sammy decided to nickname her Pearl. Then Willow handed Sammy a Pokedex and five Pokeballs. (Yes, I know what those are too)

Willow was also kind enough to give me the items as well, which was really nice. I thanked her and the four of us - counting Angel and Pearl - headed out.

For the rest of the day it was us simply walking along a place called Route 1, and it was full of Patrat, Sentret, Lillipup, Pidove, even some Galarian Zigzagoon. I admit I was tempted in catching one of the Zigzagoon, but I decided against it because I wanted to become closer to Angel before I added more team members.

We set up camp at the edge of a nearby forest - Sammy didn't tell me it's name. Which brings us to right now. I'm gonna stop writing, as I'm exhausted, I'll be sure to write more when we're at the next town.
