"Watch out!" Taehyung felt a strong hand pushing him to the side. He stumbled, almost falling down but just on time he placed his hand on a cold metal of the lampost that was right next to him as if for a reason.
But, he didn't believe in those things. Even for small things like these. For him there was no such thing as faith or things happening for a given reason, there were only coincidences. The person he bumped into groaned and kept walking not turning their head again and Taehyung didn't even bother to utter a "sorry".
He got used to it.
Going down the pathways he didn't know, bumping into random people as he would always get lost in his own thoughts, roaming the streets for hours no matter the weather or being closed at home without anyone around- that was his daily life.Unfortunately for him university was also a part of it. Not that he wanted it to be but there was something he once valued the most in his life and those were promises. He never broke a promise, yet people kept breaking the promises given to him.
Cutting all people off of his life made him free of all promises except one-finishing university. Was it because that was his mother's last wish, even though she herself broke the biggest promise she had ever given to him by dying? Probably yes and he held onto it although it was only giving him pain by having to be surrounded by so many people almost every single day.
The period of holidays was his favourite. It was not like he would gather with someone to celebrate them, there was no one to do that with, but he would actually be able to stay home for days, sometimes weeks. He would buy some food enough to keep him alive for that time, as he didn't find any kind of enjoyment in eating. It was only an essential of survival.
The TV would be on almost the whole time in those days as he would numbly stare at it, finding no meaning in any of the TV shows or movies that would be played on it.
If someone saw him, they'd think he was some kind of a movie freak because of spending so much time in front of the TV, but the real reason was that he only needed some background blabbering so his thoughts would not eat him all up from the inside. Sometimes that background distraction would be music. Sometimes. Because he hated that he loved it. He felt that even music could dissapoint him and betray him, so he only ocasionally gave himself the pleasure of enjoying it.For Taehyung, everything he did in his life was a failure. Nothing he would do seemed right to him and sometimes he thought he wasn't even able to think properly.
Taehyung was now taking few deep breaths when he found himself in front of the big glass door of the university. He licked his lips and lowered his cap, ocasionally feeling some eyes on him while he was passing down the hallway to get to his locker.
He felt as there were more students today and it was much noisier than usually. Whispering was scratching his ears and he just wanted to take his books and leave for the lecture as fast as possible.
After placing the bag inside of it and taking only what he needed, he closed the locker gasping. Just when he was going to head towards the classroom a loud creak sound of the microphone was heard from the speakers which were placed in the corners on the walls of the hall. With that, all students including Taehyung knew there would be an announcement made.He was not interested as always so he would seem to just proceed to the lecture but what he heard through the speaker made him stop. Just for a few seconds.
"Dear students and professors, I am sorry to inform you of a tragic event that happened early this morning. One of our dear students, Piper Moore, has commited suicide by hanging. The reasons are yet unknown and the funeral will be held in two days. I'd like to ask for those who knew Piper to come to the rector's office today until 3 pm. Thank you." Taehyung recognized the voice of the rector's assistant.
He didn't feel sad for the girl. He only felt sympathetic, thinking how she also must've led a miserable life.
An almost invisible smile crept it's way out on his face and if someone saw it, just right after the annoucement, they'd think he was a physchopath. How can a person smile after hearing that someone commited a suicide? The real reason was because he thought how lucky the girl actually was. Lucky because she had the courage to end her miseries and feel free while he couldn't.He wasn't sure if he should call himself a coward, because he wasn't able to do it himself, or brave because he kept living, even though there was no purpose in it.
He was almost near the classroom when a person appeared right in front of him with a dumbfounded facial expression. Park Jimin.
"Wow, did you hear what happened to that crazy chick? There are so many rumours like..." Jimin kept blabbering which made Taehyung to immediately stop him.
"I don't care." was all Taehyung said and then he passed by Jimin living him in the hall which was now almost cleared of students as they were all at the lectures.
A sigh left Jimin's lungs after what he thightly pressed his eyes and lips in thin lines. As much as Park Jimin wanted to get close to Taehyung it was not working.
Taehyung didn't want anyone in his life and he was good at pushing people but Jimin felt something. For some reason he liked the boy, he didn't know why though. So Jimin never gave up with his attempts at getting close to him. It didn't matter if they would exchange one or two senteces, it was still a progress for him. Even after two years of trying, he was still here and even if it was tiresome for Taehyung, it wasn't for Jimin. He knew Taehyung needed someone, so he was going to stay by him no matter he liked it or not.........
