**Daryl's POV**

The girl was goin' on about her old group and how they thought she killed a gal. She went on to describe the men who was chasin' her. Gotta give the girl credit for escapin' from what sounded like four fully grown men. Summit about her seemed familiar, whether it was her strength or her curly brown hair.
The girl stared at me wide eyed, clearly expectin' a response.

I snickered, " I thought ye was a damn owl or somethin' "

Her big brown eyes widened slightly and she sucked in a breath. "D..Daryl Dixon?" she whispered.  The sound of her sayin' my name startled me. She knew me? What the hell was goin' on I thought, but then the realisation hit me.
Holy shit.

"Louise.."

FLASHBACK

"My name's Louise by the way, Louise Pritchard" she said quietly whilst I placed her down by a tree.

I grunted in response, "Daryl Dixon".  The blood on her head was still dripping down her forehead. I pulled a tattered bandana out of my pocket and went to wipe the blood away. She flinched violently. "Come 'ere, I ain't gon' hurt ye" I said sternly and proceeded to wipe her forehead. She looked up at me with a scared look in her big brown eyes, kinda like a deer. Pretty soon most of the blood was off her face. My eyes were directed to a patch of blood forming on her back. "Turn around, you got summat on yer back" I commanded. Abruptly, she bolted upright and backed away from me.
"Thanks for your help, um, Daryl, but I need to go." she stammered. What the hell was wrong with this girl?
"Hey! You could barely walk two feet without trippin'over yer own goddamn feet, what the hell makes ye think I'd let ye walk all the walk back home by yerself, huh?" I practically yelled. "So get back here and let me see yer back". This time, she sheepishly walked back towards me. I began to roll up her shirt and she, yet again, flinched. Tired of this, I turned her around so that she was facing me and stared into her brown eyes, "I ain't gon' hurt ye" I said, making sure I sounded as serious as possible. She replied with a small, grateful smile.
I turned her back around and continued to roll up her shirt. "Whatcha even think I was gonna d..". I stopped speaking as soon as I saw them. Cuts; some fresh and some old covered her back from her shoulder blades to her tiny hips. Although not as many, they were similar to mine. As if sensing that I'd seen them, Louise cowered away from me.

Suddenly,  was overcome with rage. "Who did this to ye?" I growled. She stayed silent, looking at her feet. I approached her, full of anger. "I said, who did this?!" She looked up at me, tears threatening to spill.
"M..ma fath.father" she blubbed.

Somethin' in me that day snapped. This girl was bein' hurt. I know what she's gone through and I knew how hard it was to go thorugh it with no one there for ye. I wouldn't let her go through it anymore alone anymore. Not if I could help it...

BACK TO REALITY

Her eyes widened... just in time to see the bullet go through her abdomen. I turned around to see two of the men Louise had described standing a few metres away, both holdin' rifles. Before they knew it, I put an arrow in each of their foreheads. Their lifeless bodies fell to the floor.
It all happened so fast. I turned back to look at Louise. She was standing still, holding her filthy hand to her bloody stomach. She looked at her stomach then back to me, a single tear ran down her dirt coated cheek.

Before I could reach her, she tumbled backwards down the steep slope into the creek.
