Zoya was in a foul mood.
Abbu had upset her entire day's schedule. Without checking with her he had called her Zosh Famous Five team and asked them to manage the day by themselves and not disturb her. And the most irritating glitch was that her team was working with clockwork precision without her. Not a single call had come for her opinion on any matter. Why was her team so good! She stomped down the stairs.
Zoya had been so looking forward to some "me" time with Aditya's letter in the office. But alas now no such luck!
Just then her cellphone buzzed. Zoya ran eagerly to get it. She prayed her team was in a SOS situation and it was a distress call that she was desperately needed.
But it was just, "Arshad". She was so disappointed, she did not even want to attend the call and it showed on her face. And Noor missed nothing on her way up back to her room.
Zoya: Hello Arshad. Good Morning.
Arshad: blah blah blah... Can you come to Medicare Hospital at 10am? Please. Blah... blah... blah...
Zoya: Sorry Arshad. I cannot go anywhere today... Abbu has some all day plans...
Waseem: (interrupting) No Zoya. You go.
Zoya: But Abbu... just now... you said...
Waseem: That was for going to Zosh Office only. Not going out with Arshad
Zoya: But Abbu...
Waseem: (interrupting) Zoya! Go!
Zoya: Okay Arshad. I will be there. Bye
Waseem resumed reading the newspaper super pleased with himself. Zoya hovered behind her Abbu's sofa for a few seconds and then gathered enough courage to speak.
Zoya: Abbu pleeeeease. Just 10-15 minutes away we have an event. I just want to say hello to my client's parents and grandparents and show them these clothes (she pointed to herself) that they gifted me and Noor. Please Abbu. They will be offended that I did not come despite their warm personal invite. If I leave now I will be in good time to meet both my client and Arshad.
Waseem: (giving in against his better judgement) Okay but do not keep Arshad waiting.
Roshnaq put down the tea tray. Roshnaq: At noon, we have to join Sohail and Ameena for lunch at ______ Don't forget. Come directly if you are late. What you and Noor are wearing will look good for our lunch outing also
Zoya: (to herself) "Oh! So this was the all day plan"
Zoya nodded her head like the most achcha bachcha in the world to both of them and muttered to herself, "Parents!"
