Happy Reading Dollies.

Grab tissues!! Cause I know I did.

"I'm staying with you Hvitserk". You ordered, standing your ground.
"No, you must go back with Ubbe". He groaned, scratching his stubbled chin.
"I will not, Ivar has gone mad".
"He has not, he just wants revenge for mothers death".
"Ivar will get you killed or be the one killing you, if he even thinks that you have done something to betray him".
He came closer to you, taking your hand in his. "Ivar will not kill me, now do as I say".
"You can not order me around, I am not your slave". You quickly removed your hand.
"Why do you have to make this so hard for me Y/N"?
"I'm trying to keep you alive, I don't want to bury you". Tears started to fall as the imagine of his body being covered with dirt.
He kissed you forehead, taking his thumb and wiping a tear away. "I will be fine, I promise".
"I want you safe, now please go with Ubbe".
"Ivar will think I choose Ubbe over him".
"I'll make sure he knows I sent you away". He said as he pecked your lips.
"Okay, I'll go". "But I will not go easily". You scruched up you nose, playfully.
"Good girl".
Watching Hvitserk stand beside Ivar made your stomach turn. You didn't like leaving Hvitserk here with him. You've never trusted Ivar after he killed Sigurd. The way he could just take his own brothers life, without a second thought.
You waved to Hvitserk and prayed to the Gods that he was going to be okay and come home safely.
"He has a good head on his shoulders, but this reasoning and staying with Ivar is a idiot move". Ubbe said as he checked on you.
"I know, thats why I'm with you".
"Hvitserk made you come".
"Yes but I can see why you wanted to leave Ivar, he's not thinking clearly".
"It's all about becoming king". You both said together.
Arriving at Kattegat, you saw Lagertha take Ubbe into the main hall. You quickly followed.
They sat at the table drinking. Lagertha took a seat beside Ubbe, asking him if he would join her against King Harald then she would support him against Ivar. He agreed.
Your mouth hung open, how could he do this to Hvitserk.
Sitting on a stool, racking your brain, trying to figure out what you were suppose to do, Ubbe came in.
"Y/N"?
"Yeah, what do you want". You said trying not to sound angry with him, but it didn't work.
"Whats wrong"?
"You agreeing to fight for Lagertha".
He sighed. "Y/N, you know that Ivar and I are going to war".
"Yes, but how could you do this to Hvitserk"?
"He betrayed me by staying with Ivar, he betrayed you".
"Ubbe, I love him".
"I know, but if he did then he would have let you fight beside him and died with him".
You nodded. "I can't betray Hvitserk, but Ivar is another story".
"Then join me against Ivar, I need a great sheildmaiden". He chuckled.
"But..."
"No buts, yes or no"?
"Yes".

Stepping on the battle fields, maybe for the last time. You looked around, scanning the area trying to see if you saw Hvitserk. There he was, next to Ivar.
"You ready"?
"Yeah".
Walking up beside Ubbe and Bjorn on his horse. Halfdan and Bjorn rode out to meet King Harald and Hvitserk. They switch brothers and rode back. You were so happy to see Hvitserk, but in the back of your mind you knew he would be angry with you.
"What is she doing here". Hvitserk kicked over a chair.
"She joined me". Ubbe says picking up the chair.
"Y/N talk to him".
You took Hvitserks hand, leading him to a table.
"Hvitserk please stay with us, this madness needs to stop".
"Brother against brother".
"Why are you with him, I told you to go home"? He gritted his teeth.
"You told me to go with Ubbe".
"Yeah, I did not mean join him, in taking down our brother".
"Why, you joined Ivar in doing so"?
"Ivar has a plan, he will make us legends".
"The only legend you'll be is the one who died by his little brothers hands, oh wait that went to Sigurd". Sarcasm all in your voice.
"Ivar is going to get you killed". You shouted at him.
"Y/N, you're not helping". Ubbe removed you.
"Hvitserk stay". "I do not want to kill my little brother".
"I can't". Hvitserk got up and went back to his horse.
"I hope I dont see you on the battle field, I do not want to kill you Y/N".
"Same goes for me, but if I do may Odin reunite you with Sigurd and King Ragnar". You tried hard to hold back your tears until he was gone but it was to late.
"Ubbe take care of her". "Protect her". "Be there for her, when I can not".
"I will, always". Ubbe looked at you, as you turned away from them, so they didnt see you cry.
Hvitserk nodded and rode off to join Ivar as Halfdan rejoined us. It was time to go to war.
Ubbe nodded to you as Haralds voice roared threw the battle field. Bjorn right behind you.
It was happening so fast, bodies dropping like flies. Blood splattered and covered you.
The sound of metal hitting metal, metal slicing through flesh and the screams of the dying rung in your ear.
You saw Hvitserk coming closer to you as you stabbed one of King Haralds men.
His eyes met yours, knowing what you both had to do. He came closer to you, his sword ready. You took the first swing and tried to strike him. Missing him as he came slicing into your back.
You winched but kept fighting. Hvitserk was a better fighter, he knew your weak spots. He stabbed your shoulder, making you drop your sword.
You dropped to your knees. "Do what you have too".
"I do not want to". His voice struggled.
"But Ivar is watching, you will do it". Hvitserks head went to Ivar and back to you.
Hvitserk slung his sword back, making it land across your chest. But not to deep as you fell to the ground.
Hvitserk stood over you. "I'm sorry my love, I told you to go home". He drew his sword up. "I love you Y/N".
"It will be alright"."We will see each other again in Valhalla, be a family once again. You cried. "I love you so much more".
As he was about to end your life, Ubbe came up behind him and stabbed Hvitserk threw his chest. Ubbe froze, his face laced with sorrow as Hvitserks spirit left his body.
Hvitserk dropped to his death. His eyes never leaving yours. A water fall of tears came rushing out of your eyes.
You slowly sighed with relief but just for a second. Holding the wound on your shoulder, your other hand traveled to your stomach as you felt something move.
"I'm sorry my brother, I will always protect her, even from you". Ubbe took his sword out of his dead brother and carefully picked you up as King Harald retreated with his men.
If King Harald would have called sooner, Hvitserk would still be alive and would have been able to see his child be born.
