Pip: The Fox Hyrbid

•Chapter 1•

"Hi Pip!"
"Hey, Pip!"
"Pip's coming!"
"Pip!"

Pip was a young 14 year old girl but she was born with a difference. Right on top of her crisp, warm hair, two fox ears twitched wildly . And below, a fox tail whisped back and forth.

Pip was a hybrid. No one knew how, or why.

"Hi guys!" Pip smiled as her fox fangs glinted in the light.

She was currently in a Forest with her class from school for a 3 week experience.
The birds tweeted as she yipped up at the trees, giggling as she did so.

The rest of her camp mates were all normal humans. There was Jake, Ash, Mimi, Luna, Danny and Charlie. The  whole point of  the experience was that there was no other adults on sight.

The camp mates were taken into the middle of the woods where the rangers would watch them from afar to test their survival skills. Each campmate had their own tent with a sleeping bag and water bottle. But the food was up to them.

Pip laughed as she jumped and ran off. Her eyes glimmered as her hair blew in the wind as she pounced about.

"Pip!" Luna called, "Come back it's getting dark!"
"Coming!" Pip stood and quickly ran back.

She perched down and curled her tail round by the fire as the others gathered around.

"Pip?" Ash looked at her, "How do you..cope..with your tail?"

Pip smiled sweetly, "You get used to it eventually, plus it keeps you warm!"
She stroked the blanket of fur that was placed on her lap as it moved slightly.

The others smiled as they watched.

Jake sighed, "So..what do we do now."

Mimi smiled, "Let's all reveal something that the rest don't know about!"
She jumped to the thought.

The boys sniggered, "Alright then you go first."

"Ok.." Mimi moved her pale hand as she thought.
"Oh I know! When I was little, I used to sing to my posters of celebrities as if they were really there!"
She giggled as she remembered. Luna and the boys all joined in as they revealed something secret about themselves.

"So.." Jake smirked, "Mimi sung to posters, Danny attempted to recreate the olympics with snails, Ash danced to a girls group song in front of his mum, Charlie pretended he was a police man and attempted to arrest his plushies when he was a baby, Luna thought she was the queen and created a kingdom of imaginary people, so it's just Pip."

He looked over intrigued, "What did you do when you were little that you've never told anyone?"

Pip's ears twitched. She shuffled slightly as her tail started to wag,
"I.." She looked up, her eyes gleamed from the light of the fire,
"I saw a fox..It walked right up to me as I stood frozen still."

The camp mates were silent.

Pip continued, "I looked down, my ears twitched as I tried to communicate with it."
Her voice was soft as she spoke.

"Did it work?" Danny lunged forward desperate to find out the truth.

"Yes." Pip smiled. "I could understand what it was saying from the clicking noises it made. It told me.."

"Told you what?" Luna had leaned in
closer.

"It told me...that my Mother...was a forest spirit."
