Pip: The Fox Hyrbid

•Chapter 5•

"Pip..Pip.."

Jake leaned over Pips curled up body as he gently shook her.
A slight groan emerged from where Pip was laying.

"Jake?" She yawned revealing her fangs as her ears twitched.

"Pip, my foot's better.." Jake smiled softly.

A sudden surge burst through Pip as she immediately sat up.

"Really!" Her tail frantically wagged back and forth.

"Yes..look." Jake moved his ankle to show it was better.

Pip gleamed at the sight.

"Stay here I'll tell the others!" She quickly ran out the tent to find the others.

"Guys!!"

The others were all gathered round the fire as the sun was setting.

"Pip! You're awake!" Mimi stood and walked over.

"Jakes foot is all better!" She jumped around Mimi.

Mimi giggled as the rest of the camp mates walked over.
"Pip, we already knew."

"Huh?" Pips ears drooped.
"What do you mean?"

Ash took over.
"I went to check on you two since neither of you had moved for ages. As I walked over, Jake stepped out. He said you were asleep and he didn't want to wake you."

Pips tail dropped.
"Oh..but, his foot.."

"It was completely fine. He came outside to try to walk."
Ash looked down.
"I'm sorry we didn't tell you.."

"Pip."

Jake placed his hand in Pips shoulder.

"Why didn't you tell me!"
Confusion engulfed Pip as tears began to fill her eyes.

"Pip without you my foot would still be in pain. You took care of me. Because of you I'm standing here right now."
Jake smiled.

Pip looked up as her ears rose. A look of hope flustered amongst her face.

She sniffed, "Really?"

"Yes." Jake looked at the others as they all smiled.

Danny walked closer, "Pip let's go get some more wood for the fire."

"Ok.." Pip followed Danny over to some fallen twigs.

Ash, Mimi and Jake stood by each other.

"Poor Pip.. All she wants is to make people happy.." Mimi sighed.

"Yeah.." Both Jake and Ash spoke in unison.

Mimi turned and quickly changed the conversation.

"So, what was it like having some alone time with Pip huh Jake?"

Jake blushed and laughed as Ash rolled his eyes.

"I was asleep for most of it so I don't really know. I do remember her trying to keep me calm. Something about her just makes you relax straight away, maybe it's her eyes. The way she looks at you.."

Ash coughed.

"But anyway.." Jake refocused.
"She was a big help."

Mimi smiled as she playfully nudged his shoulder.

"Don't worry, your secrets safe with me!"

Jakes body tensed.

"What secret! I don't have any secrets!"

Mimi giggled.

"Just go help Charlie and Luna with the food."

"Hmph.." Jake marched off.

"So Ash.."

Ash looked up.
"Oh you finally remembered I'm here."

Mimi smiled.
"I know you're jealous of Jake."

Ash shook his head and laughed.
"Ha! You really think I'm jealous because Pip was all.."
He put on a girly voice.
"Oh Jake let me help you!"

Mimi laughed.
"Yep couldn't be more obvious!"
She walked over to Luna and the others by the food.

Ash sighed.

"Jealous..I wasn't jealous.."
He walked over slowly.

"You ready to head back?"

Danny turned away from the tree where he'd collected some fresh wood for the fire.

Pip was gone.

"Pip?"

A noise came from behind.

"Pip is that you?"

Danny hurried over, his heart thumping wildly.

He stopped and blushed.

Pip was rolling around in a load of mud and giggling as the same fox cub Charlie had played with was laying on top.
Her tail had wrapped around as she yipped.

She spotted Danny and giggled.

"Oh Danny!"
She gently cuddled the cub and let it run off into the bushes.

"Danny? Are you ok?"

He was staring at Pip in amazement.

Mud completely covered her entire body as she tilted her head.

"You may need a wash.." Danny sighed as he smiled.

"Oh..yeah.." Pip giggled as she followed Danny back to the camp.

"PIP!!"
Mimi sprinted over.
"What happened to you!!"

"I was playing in the mud with the same fox cub Charlie had met!"
Pip smiled.

"Wow! It actually came back!"
Charlie jumped up.

"Let's focus on telling the stories later."
Mimi took Pips hand.
"For now, you need an urgent bath."

Jake and Ash smiled as Luna rushed over.

"Mimi I'll help with the clothes! I'd do anything to get a better view of the stars.."
She looked over at the lake ready to go.

Mimi took control as she looked at the boys.
"Since Pip needs an urgent makeover, I think it's fair that you boys do the rest of the food while we have some girl time."

Jake stood.
"On one condition."

"I'm listening."

"You let us see Pip before we eat."

Mimi nodded.

"Deal."

As the boys all sat by the fire, Mimi and Luna led Pip to the lake to wash.

"Ok, ready?"
Mimi and Luna stood covering their eyes as Pip took off her clothes ready to jump in the water.

"Ready!"
Her tail flew up as she dived straight in.

As her head bobbed above the surface, the mud washed away revealing her face.

Both Mimi and Luna gasped.

"Pip.."

Underneath Pips eyes, her cheeks had white freckles of fur dotted across. A red aura of fur could be seen by her fox snout.

Pip giggled, "You look so surprised!"

Mimi gulped as Luna tried to stay calm.
