Ch. 19 The Perils of The Mind

As Reiji said I would, I could feel my soul leaving my physical body and into Yui's mind. As I began to drift further from my body, I could see the destination that I was headed. The whole plane looked dark and foreboding and even though I wasn't even physically here, it felt... cold and empty like nothing could ever possibly live here.
As I floated into Yui's subconscious I could feel her presence somewhere around here, but also a huge darkness looming over everything I could barely see and it felt as if I was standing in the arctic with how cold it felt. Then as I wandered I saw Yui trapped in a cage that looked almost like the iron maiden in my room, then I saw the thing that was keeping her imprisoned. The demon had no need to hide it's true from anymore now that we knew about it, its body was contorted into all sorts of different angles and its skin was grey and sickly looking with clawed hands and feet that looked almost draconic. And its face, if I can even call it that was a swirling mist that held all the memories of pain and despair of its victims. This thing was gonna get out of her one way or another even if I had to die for it.

"You stay away from me, I dont know what the hell you are but I won't allow you to use me like your own personal puppet." As the creature spoke its voice sounded like a mixture of everyone that it had possessed like a swirling mix of pain and sorrow. "But you dont have a choice dear, I'm already well on my way to becoming you, and once this little tiny bit of light is extinguished from your body then I'll be free to do whatever I desire... and you'll simply fade until I call you back when I've finished my fun." It looks like Yui's still clinging on but I dont know how much longer she can hold out. "Yo she bitch let her go!"

As the creature spun around to look at me I could feel this overwhelming dread come over me like all the pain that I had suppressed for years was now coming back. I managed to keep myself together and walked towards it. "Oh so the boyfriend finally arrives to save the girl, how cliche." "Let her go you bastard and I wont have to turn that Igor looking body inside out and feed you your insides." "Very noble Ayato, but how can you possibly kill me if I'm simply a figment of this girls subconscious, I can do whatever I want here and no one can tell me what to do." "Ayato just leave me I'm not worth it, kill me now and you can end this thing before it can get out and make this whole thing worse." I simply just smirked and looked her way, "idiot, I made a promise that I was gonna get you out of here and make you mine when this was over, and I dont intend to go back in that promise." Yui began to tear up and her words were drowned through tears... "Ayato... " "Oh how romantic, too bad I'm a heartless psychopath that gets off on this type of torture. Honestly it's how I was created but I'm lovin it so far." This thing was starting to seriously annoy me, I'm ending this now.

"Alright you get out of my way and give me back my woman!!" "Oh you may be able to hurt me, but you can't get me to leave her body without killing her, if you make me leave her mind will go into shock and she'll die screaming." He's right, if I beat him to death in here then Yui's mind will start to reject us being here and her body'll start to shut down and the pain is excruciating. I have to play this carefully and make sure that the demon leaves of it's own will, "alright how bout we play a game of darts if I win you leave Yui and stay away from this world." "Hmmm I've always been a gambling being, so what's the take if I win?" I tensed up and looked at it straight in the eye... "You can take me instead." "Ayato no dont do it please this isn't what I want!!!" "Hmmm a vampire as a host, an immortal and all powerful host, causing all that pain and chaos mmmmmm now thats an offer I can live with. You've got a deal bub." And thus the game was on.
