"You did great!" You exclaimed, throwing your arms around your boyfriend, Luke's, shoulders.
"Thanks, beautiful." Luke looked down at you and beamed, almost as if you were the one who had just sang your heart out in front of thousands of people.
You blushed and looked away, watching all of the people move about around you. You noticed Michael watching the two of you, and when he caught your eye, he made an I appropriate gesture before grinning and nodding. You felt your face grow even hotter.
Luke grabbed your chin and turned your head so you were looking at him again. He smiled sweetly down at you.
"Do you want to go back to the bus and watch some movies or something?" You asked.
"We should go for a walk around the city," he suggested, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
How could you say no to that face?
A few minutes later, you and Luke were both changed and dressed appropriately for the cold weather. Standing in front of the tour bus, you admired how adorable Luke looked with his beanie and puffy winter coat. You reached up and flicked the little pom-pom.
"Ready?" He asked.
You nodded, grinning as he offered you his hand. You began to walk down the sidewalk, swinging your hands between you. There was so much to take in: the bright lights, the busy streets, and the way Luke was watching you instead.
"Are you hungry?" Luke nodded towards a candy shop on a busy corner. The golden interior of the store looked so warm and inviting. You grinned and nodded.
"On the count of three," he said, stepping into a ready position. You laughed out loud and mimicked his stance. Watching the busy intersection ahead, you waited for Luke to give you the okay. "One...two...three!"
You sprinted across the crosswalk, laughing as cars honked their horns. One person even leaned out and swore.
Once inside the shop, Luke went up to the counter and ordered two hot chocolates.
"Extra whipped cream," he insisted. The starstruck teen worker just nodded with wide eyes.
The smell of cocoa powder and chocolate candies filled the air and you sighed contentedly. Suddenly, you felt a pair of hands over your eyes.
"Guess who," Luke whispered into your ear.
"Hmm," you teased, pretending to really think. "Ashton? Is that you?"
"I sound nothing like Ashton!"
"Oh, sorry Calum." You giggled.
"Y/N," Luke groaned, placing a kiss on your jaw and removing his hands.
"Luke?" The girl called with a shaky voice. Her eyes were still widened as she held the two hot chocolates.
"Thanks, sweetheart," Luke smiled, taking the drinks. The girl's face grew red and she nodded, before quickly running to the back room.
"And off we go!"
When you exited the shop, you were both delighted to find it snowing.
"You have a snowflake on your eyelash," Luke laughed, leaning down and pressing his warm lips over your eyelid.
"Oh no," you said, standing onto your tiptoes. "You have one on your mouth." You pressed your lips against his.
He hummed in appreciation before stepping back. "Where to now?"
You thought for a moment. "That way," you said, pointing down a brightly lit avenue.
He grabbed your hand again and began to skip down the sidewalk. You soon joined in, throwing your head back in laughter. The bright lights lit you both up, causing your skin to shine in a rainbow of different colors. Bitter people moved out of your way as you passed, glaring at you, but you didn't care.
"I love you," Luke said, stopping suddenly.
"What?" You asked, breathless.
"I love you, Y/N." He looked at you intensely. "I love you so, so much."
"I love you, too," you said, before pressing your lips against his.
