Romano cringed at the sound of hacking coming from his brother. The bathroom was currently occupied by a puking Northern Italian.
The oldest of the three brothers stood behind the one hugging the toilet seat. His hand rubbed his back in circles, trying to relieve Veneziano. It didn't work and only made the light auburn haired male spill his guts more.
The coughing stopped and the younger panted heavily and sporadically. His eyelids were heavyweight and hid his miserable looking honey gold irises. His body was slumped over onto the toilet, his head resting arm that was loosely gripping the seat.
Romano sighed heavily in a worried manner at his weak looking brother. It looked like the slightest push could topple him over. The male had been throwing up since 5 in the morning, and it was currently almost 5:40. He'd been puking for around 40 minutes. However, the only contents he spilled was water that smelled like the ocean instead of chunks of pasta he ate that night.
"Vene, I'll get you some breakfast and ibuprofen so you can feel better. After taking it, please go to sleep and rest." Romano commanded softly filled with sympathy. He could only imagine how terrible his little brother felt. His stomach must of been churning up nothing for him cough up, causing his stomach to collapse in on itself.
Veneziano nodded weakly. The fragile looking man tried to stand only to collapse back into himself, almost hitting his head against the bathroom counter. His fall was caught by his brother who quickly picked his immobile brother up to bring him to the bedroom.
Romano laid him down and pulled up the thick blankets over his body. He gently rubbed his thumb over Veneziano's blotched cheek. The auburnette whimpered and coughed. Romano leaned down and lightly placed his lips on Veneziano's right cheek, then his left cheek, and finally on his forehead.
"I'll be right back."
Romano left the bedroom to enter the kitchen downstairs. He got out a bowl and broth for the soup he was going to fix for Veneziano.
While he waited, he thought about his defenseless and weak little brother. He had no idea what's causing him to spill his guts out like that, but Veneziano had done it before. Even though it wasn't so severe. Veneziano had told Romano that it was because of Venice, his capital and heart, flooding and sinking. Yet, those instances were spread out and only lasted about 5 minutes not an extra 40! It hurt his soul to watch his brother puke like that.
Romano carefully brought the soup and a bottle of water to his pained brother and laid it on the bedside table. His tanned hand caressed his little brothers flushed cheek. "Mio fratello," He whispered, gaining the other's attention. "I have your soup." Romano took a spoonful and guided it in between Veneziano's pouted lips. He took the spoon out and wiped the corners of the auburnette's mouth lightly.
Once the soup was gone, Romano unscrewed the water bottle cap. He pressed it to Veneziano's lips. The younger slipped them open and let the water lap against his tongue and down his sore throat. It burned a bit, but relieved a bit of the soreness.
Romano screwed the cap back on and set it on the bedside table again. He pecked his brother's cheek before going into the kitchen to put the empty bowl in the sink to be washed later.
He went back upstairs and settled himself next to his brother as quietly as possible. He turned off the lamp that had been on before and rolled to face his brother.
Veneziano scooted closer to Romano and rested his head on his chest while the rest of him was curled close to the fluffy figure of Romano. Their legs intertwined and Romano drapped an arm around Veneziano to keep the male close to him.
"How are you feeling fratello?"
"Eh... Biene..." Rasped out Veneziano.
"Good, good." Romano felt the younger snuggle closer.
"Thank you for taking care of me... Ti amo fratellone."
Romano smiled softly and looked down to see wide, innocent, pure doe-like eyes colored a soft honey gold. They looked tired and miserable and defeated.
The oldest brother placed small and short kisses on his brother's cheeks.
"Ti amo troppo."
Veneziano smiled softly and placed a peck on his brother's collarbone in return. He finally returned his head to the center of Romano's chest and closed his eyes. Quickly enough, the auburnette fell into a deep sleep as Romano slowly fell as well. And they stayed like that the rest of the day.
