Romano grimly looked right in front of him. His brother was in the passenger's seat taking a nap.

His hands gripped the steering wheel tightly and anxiously. All Romano's mind thought about was getting to the hospital. He had been so hesitant to do so previously, afraid of the nations of the world was going to be exposed. Now, he couldn't care less. All what mattered was figuring out what was wrong with Italy Veneziano.

They pulled up into the parking space in front of the hospital. Romano climbed out after parking and woke his brother up gently.

Veneziano groaned and blinked, the sunlight blinding him temporarily. He grumbled tiredly. "Vene, come on." Romano spoke softly and helped the northerner up. They closed the door, locked the car, and headed to the front doors with Veneziano stumbling every once and a while from tiredness.

Romano went up to the front desk and told the desk lady his doctor's appointment. He had called a day before.

"Right, under Feliciano Vargas..." She mumbled, clicking and typing away.

"Fratello...?"

Romano turned his head to sleepy Italian.

"Why are we here?"

The southerner pet his brother's head, ruffling his fluffy auburn red hair. "To make sure you're okay." Veneziano nodded and rested his head on Romano's shoulder.

"You can head up to the waiting room on the 4th floor." The receptionist said, flashing a smile. Romano nodded in thanks and head to the elevator with his brother stumbling a bit to keep up.

As they waited for the elevator to stop, Romano hugged the smaller male and nuzzled into his hair. It smelled of sea salt.

It dinged and the brother's exited the lift to go to the waiting room. Romano sat Veneziano on one of the cushioned seats and went to sign in. Fortunately, the wait shouldn't be long.

Ten minutes passed before one of the side doors opened to reveal a nurse holding a clipboard. "Feliciano Vargas?" He asked. Romano stood up and awoke his brother. The auburnette grumbled and followed along tiredly.

The nurse lead them to a room and asked them to sit. Veneziano waddled onto the bed and laid down with a yawn. Romano took the closest seat next to him.

"So, what are you guys here for?" The nurse asked. "My brother has been throwing up for the past four or five days." Romano answered, seeing as his brother was asleep. The nurse rose an eyebrow and nodded, making notes.

"What has he been throwing up, and long do they usually last?"

"He's been throwing up some of his meals, but it's mostly water he's been puking, strangely. It usually lasts to around 40 minutes or so."

The nurse widened his eyes at that. "That's... Not normal. If he has been throwing up that long I'm surprised he hasn't puked up his organs."

Romano nodded worriedly, reaching to take his brother's hand in his. "Yeah. I should've called earlier, but I was so stubborn..." The russet male trailed off as his phone rang. Romano picked it up and mouthed a 'sorry' to the nurse.

"Ciao?" He asked.

"Romano, do you know what's happening in Venice right now?"

The southerner froze, suddenly terrified.

"No, what happened?!" He asked, not trying to be calm or quiet at all.

"Do you not watch the news?" His boss asked. "No." Romano answered.

"Dio... Well, Venice has been flooding for the past four days. They say another one is coming in quick today and that another one, huge, is going to be coming in tomorrow around noon."

"Shit... So that's why..." Romano muttered while his boss spoke on.

"The city's been evacuated and around three-fourths of the islands are going or are underwater. From the floods and already rising sea levels. Strangely, the neighboring city's haven't been touched by a single drop."

Romano then felt tears start to spill from his eyes as he hung up abruptly. His olive green eyes moved to where his brother lay. If only he had watched the damn news for once!

The nurse sat there awkwardly, looking back and forth between the two brothers.

Veneziano whimpered suddenly, then groaned, hands going to cradle his stomach. The nurse quickly grabbed the necessary supplies for treating hurling patients and Romano was just as quick to be by his side, tears falling faster.

Veneziano leaned over the bed, stomach churning and bile rising, and threw up right as the trash can was moved into place.

His lunch was hurled into the trash can. The nurse stood off to the side, eyebrows furrowing. He then slipped outside hurrying to find a doctor.

Veneziano coughed and spluttered up water next. The stench of sea salt hit Romano nose as he frowned sadly. The russet male looked on as the next 35 minutes rolled by painfully.
