Chapter 2 *Breakfast and the talk*

Mom glared at me for about 10 seconds before she gestured for me to sit down.

"Hey honey, are you excited?" she said with curiosity glinting in her eyes

"Excited about what?"

"Your birthday silly girl, I didn't know you would forget about such a special day"

"Ugg I don't know whats so special about it really" I said with a frown

"Come on sweetie, it's not that bad" her face went into a frown and I felt sorry

"I'm sorry but I havnt had the best of luck this morning, I tripped and fell upstairs and on top of that Mike kneed me in the ribs while jumping on me!!! He's an animal!!" I said

"Well you know Mike is a trouble maker and always will be" she said seriously

"Yea I know mom" I sighed

"So do you want a party?" she said

I shrugged "well yea I mean....it's not gunna be big or anything right?"

"Noooo I guess not" she huffed "if u don't want it big u don't have to have it that way sweetie" she said flipping an omelet.

"If it makes you feel any better I'm going with your father to a pack meeting this week so we won't be at the party" she paused and sighed "just don't have alot of guys over ok?"

Oh my Lord she winked!, I have never talked about boys with her so this was the highlight of my day!!!

"Alright then mom I promise to have 1 parent here...you know just maybe across the street" I said with pure sarcasm and she gave me her charming evil eye.

"Then sweetie it's settled, your having a party without me here" she said drooping her shoulders

I jumped up and down trying to hold my excitement in but I just coudn't.

"Thanks mom" I said with the craziest smile ever

"Yea yea let's get everything together now shall we?" she said with a smile

Michael jumped out of his seat and started calling all of his friends letting them know I was having a party.

"Mike! Don't you dare" I said with a pan in my hand

"But why not?! That's not fair! If it's going to be a big party then it's going to be the best party filled with drunk and horny teenagers!!" He said practically screaming

"If you make one mistake and invite someone I hate you're going to be dead meat. Oh! And if you ever speak to anyone about what happened upstairs.... just know you will be locked somewhere where nobody will ever find you" I evilly laughed

"I'm still soooo scared, look I'm shivering in my new Jordans" he said sarcastically

I growled loudly in response and he froze then laughed and walked away holding his phone in his hands.

Ugh he's probably texting everybody I hate... I thought

I needed to call Niki and let her know the party was back on. Niki is my best friend, she's about 5'7, cute red hair, she is a nerd and a gorgeous she-wolf like me. Sadly neither of us has found our mate yet.

I picked up my phone and started to call Niki

"Hello"

"Omg hey Niki, guess what?" I said with excitement brewing

"What happened, did you find your mate?!" she said excitedly

"No but I'm finally having a birthday party and your invited of course" I said happiness drooling off me

"Oh yay Kay I'm so happy, is there gonna be some hott guys there?!" she said giggling

"Mabeee" I said holding it out

"That means yes yayy I'm so happy i'll be over in 5, it's gunna be spectacular!!!" she said while ending the line.

*Sigh* if only Marcus was here to celebrate with me but he's in Hawaii studying architecture and I'm all alone with no guy friends but there is an upside to having a party..... Smoking werewolves to flirt with ;)

My mom was running around the house getting all the decorations, tripping on ribbons of all different sizes and colors. Blue, Orange, Red, Purple, Green hanging from the doors and hooked on the chandelier. There were so many people bustling around it was giving me a headache. I don't know what happened but my mom squeeled so loud behind me my ears popped.

"I guess she got a little too excited" I said to myself "It looks like she's a child going to the candy store for the first time" I snickered and walked away

But something was nagging at me in the back of my head. Besides that fact, I was pretty happy that my parents would be outta town for my party. I don't like people always looking over my shoulder all the time, It's my 18tth birthday & I can do what I want. I was really caught up in my thoughts when I hear a loud bang on the door. I walk over and open it only to have  two tiny arms swung around me nearly tripping me.

"What's all the hugging for Niki" I said in surprise

"Well I don't know but I think I might have found your mate!!!" she said with a grin ear to ear

"You can't be serious" I said

"Yes I'm serious, but we need to get to school.....grab your bag" she said with disappointment

"No I'm not going to school today, I have to plan my huge party at the beach duh" I said with a weird looking face, a giggle accidentally slipped out making me laugh hysterically after. Niki looked at me in shock like she had just seen a ghost behind me.

"Niki! Niki! you alright!" I said while laughing really hard

"Um uh, I gotta go, uh see you at the party tomorrow" then she fast walked outta the house without even saying why she had to leave.

That night I was in total shock that my best friend just up and left, I sat on my bed thinking of what could have happened and then it dawned on me......
