»this is it, the apocalypse«

"Stiles! Grab the bat, grab the fucking bat." Zelda continued to kick the zombie away but it kept crawling towards her, jaw widening as it readied itself for a bite.

Then with a sickening thud, the zombie's head went flying.

"God, took you long enough." She murmured before picking herself off the now bloody gravel. As Zelda tried to wipe off the blood from her already ruined jeans, Stiles looked her up and down. After dropping his aluminium bat, he grabbed her by both of the shoulders and feverishly asked:

"Did it get you? Were you bitten? Scratched?" She checked her ankle and shook her head no.

"I'm fine. Now," the girl picked up the gun that the zombie knocked out of her hand from before, "let's go find the others."

The two walked down the road. They had left their camp twenty minutes beforehand to check the perimeter, and when they returned, Stiles and Zelda saw everyone had left. During their search, they had luckily only found the one zombie that Stiles just killed but they were in for a shock five minutes down the line.

"Do you think they're okay?" Zelda thought for a moment, trying to find a reassuring answer. All six of their pack were gone: Allison, Isaac, Lydia, Scott, Kira and Malia.

"Of course they are. We found no blood, struggle or dead bodies, right? It can't be a zombie-related situation because they wouldn't have gone down without a fight. Maybe they saw something and went out to find us."

"Yeah, but--" Stiles cut himself off, stopping when he saw something in the distance. Zelda followed his like of sight and visibly sagged before pulling the gun from her holster.

"Ah, shit." Cocking the gun, she explained to Stiles what it was. "It's a wolf-zombie."

"I had hoped I never got to see one."

Taking a breath, Zelda told Stiles, "We need to kill it."

"No shit."

"No, we need to kill it!" The two were still able to talk as the male wolf-zombie had not noticed them yet. It was currently feeding on something. "Stiles, think of an alpha werewolf. Then think of an alpha werewolf with no conscious and is hellbent on killing everything in it's path."

"So, basically Peter?" Zelda chuckled, then nodded. "You don't think it's...Scott or Isaac?"

Holding the gun up, Zelda shook her head no when the living dead creature looked up in their direction. "Blue eyes. They should be alright."

Walking towards the wolf, Zelda started shooting. "Count yourself lucky, Stilinski," she shouted over her shoulder, her eyes never leaving the wolf-zombie, "they can be killed the same way as regular zombies! No wolfsbane needed!"

The wolf-zombie stood up and started making its way towards Zelda. One bullet in the shoulder. Another in the neck. Fortunately, the walking abomination was taking its time shuffling to the blonde-haired zombie killer. Letting out a long exhale whilst stopping in her tracks, Zelda squeezed the trigger and finally hit where she wanted it to. Right between the eyes.

"That seemed way too easy from what you described."

"You're right," she muttered, Stiles finally catching up with her. The two reached the dead wolf-zombie before Stiles started beating the skull of the thing.

When he finished, he explained. "Not taking any chances."

The two continued past the bloodied carcass the wolf-zombie was feasting on. After about thirty minutes of walking, the two found a ghost town.
