Overlooking the vast ocean in front of them the two boys conversed as they were interrupted by a mighty gust of wind as the red hued dragon flew over their heads playfully getting close enough to knock them into the ocean had the boys not been used to his antics "Doiteain really has grown hasn't he, you've done well raising him Tae!" the boys wavy dark locks fell slightly into his eyes as he smiled and looked at his friend, Taehyung started to pout "Why do you call him that Jimin? He has a proper name" he crossed his arms against his chest "Yes Tae,Doiteain is his name, Peckers, is not a name" the younger went to change subject as Jimin put up a finger to stop him "It's barely a name for a chicken let alone a magnificent dragon like him, I was kind enough to humor you, be grateful" he lectured the pouting blonde who sighed and rolled his eyes, they were quickly drawn to the giant shadow that overlapped them as the wind picked up around them, looking away from the ocean they watched as the beautiful beast carefully landed, they approached him, their heavy coats fluttering around them, Taehyung approached his friend who gently lowered his head to meet with his masters eyes, the boy then started to scratch under the dragons chin who let out soft loud purr like sounds "He's almost like a giant puppy,I never imagined the great beasts to be like this" Jimin chuckled and gently rubbed the creatures snout, the dragon took in a deep breath and gently breathed out enough air to push Jimin onto the ground but not enough to cause him any harm, Taehyung started laughing as he pointed to his friend and slapped the dragon applauding his actions, Jimin frowned, this "monster" had had it out for him since the start, this was his favorite little trick to play on the elder, he stood up rubbing the dirt off his clothes "aha, as funny as ever Doitey, it never gets old" he spoke rolling his eyes and started to walk away, Taehyung gave a giant boxy smile to his pet and nodded chasing after Jimin
The boys walked side by side before they cupped their ears as a deafening roar sounded around them, Taehyung fell as his legs buckled, his knees meeting his chest as his eyes went wide, he looked up into the sky to see the monstrous black and blue hued dragon soaring through the air, flashbacks of events passed through his mind as the image of the dragon triggered memories "Tae!" Jimin was quick to help the blonde onto his feet as they looked forward and saw the familiar royal blue banners of the Jeon's fast approaching their home, the boys stole glances at one another before hastily heading toward the castle
By the time the pair reached the building and made their way to the entrances, the Jeon's were already existing their carriage and making their way up the stairs, Mr and Mrs Jeon in the lead with two boys following in toe, stern looks on their faces "Hey Tae, isn't that Jungkook?" Jimin leaned in a whispered into Taehyung's ear, the blonde looked at the boy in shock, his mouth hanging open a little "Yeah, that's gotta be him, alongside Yoongi? He got tall, wow" Taehyung briefly looked towards Jimin before returning his gaze to the family walking up to him, no way that was annoying little Jungkook, he was so... grown up? Cold looking eyes, sharp jawline and an obviously toned body, even the way he walked was different, shoulders pulled tightly back, chest slightly puffed out, his hair seemed darker and he began parting it slightly to the side instead of having it lop into his eyes, he looked too different to be the Jungkook that Taehyung knew but, after all, four years had passed since he last saw the younger, the family finally reached the door and walked past Taehyung and Jimin, he had expected the brunette to steal a glance at him like he always used to but he only walked by him keeping his head low
"Jungkook, you okay?" Yoongi leaned towards him and asked, looking at the way the younger's eyes looked lifeless, he only received a small hum in response "You didn't even look at him Jungkook" the brunette only sighed and rubbed his face "I can't Yoongi.. I just.." "I get it, you still blame yourself for him running away and getting hurt all those years ago, but you have to stop!" Jungkook sent him a glare before mumbling to himself causing the elder to roll his eyes Jungkook followed his parents and the Kim's into the parlor where a long table was placed out, everyone gathered around it and took their seats, they began to discuss any pressing issues of the realm, he couldn't seem to gain any interest in their topics, he was here for one reason and one reason only, he zoned out and didn't even hear when Mr. Kim was calling for him "Jungkook... Jungkook!" he snapped out of his thoughts shaking his head and asking the man to repeat himself "Is what they're saying true Jungkook, that people in the East are banding together in rebellion against beast users" Jungkook nodded and looked around "Why is Taehyung not here?" the blonde's parents visibly tensed and shifted in their seats "This does not concern him..." Jungkook was shocked, of course it concerned Taehyung "What the hell do you mean!? Are you forgetting he is also a beast master!? there is only two of us known, who do you think they're going to target!?" he snapped back and clenched his fists "We will handle it, we will protect him no matter what, we can't let him get hurt again!" Taehyung's father glared back, Jungkook was taken back, he really felt the mans words tug at his heart, he hung his head low and stood up knocking his chair back "Taehyung deserves to know!" he stormed out on his way to look for a certain blonde
