Like Prince Charming, Daric POV
"I can't believe you said yes."
"Well, how could I not? My life with my stepmother and sisters is not what I wish for, I have always wanted to get away from them." Elizabeth said with a sad glint in her eyes.
*Cricket, cricket*
"Here, how about this. You tell me about your life and I'll tell you about mine?" I finally reply.
"Deal! I had a happy family once, everything I ever wished for! My mother was a kind, loving person and my father, well, he loved the seas... I believe they met overseas too!
We were all so happy, father was always teaching me swordplay while mother was watching. Mother used to have me paint with her too! I loved them but then my mother died... of lung cancer. My father went into despair and I spent my time keeping our health up. I would have loved to give up on life right then and there but I was only seven, I wanted to see the world with my father. Eventually, my father thought my stepmother would be a nice change for me but then he mysteriously died after marrying her. I had to chores for my new family, until the ball when I met you!"
"I'm sorry for your losses. My story is nothing like that... I have always been a prince, but the second born. My brother died on the battlefield serving his country which made me the heir to the throne. My parents loved my brother so when he died, me becoming king? Apparently, it is a disgrace, so they disapproved of everything I did... Including not finding a wife, they would not stop making me feel bad about myself."
I'm crying, aren't I?
Elizabeth grabbed her hankie out of her gown and wiped my tears.
"Life is about what we do in the present so let's have a Happily Ever After. That means to stop thinking about our past and move on. I need you, you need me. We can make each other happy. Don't cry, please?"
"You are right. I love you, Elizabeth. You may not believe in love at first sight but I do... I also need you! Now, we need to tell my parents though..."
"We can do it!" Elizabeth said encouragingly.
We both laughed and stood up. We walked with our hands intertwined to my parents.
"DARIC WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN??" bombed my father.
"Honey, he has somebody... did you find someone Daric?" my mother said looking at our hands.
I raise our hands up, "Yes, I asked Elizabeth to be my wife."
My parents pulled Elizabeth to them and started circling her.
"She looks very pretty."
"Can she cook? Does she know how to take care of my baby or the country?"
"Mom, Dad!!! Stop! Elizabeth can cook, clean, knows our people, and can take care of me." I say angrily.
Elizabeth walks toward me with her head high, then faces my parents, "I know I may not look like much but did Queen Wendy look like she could rule a kingdom?"
My parents looked dumbfounded for a moment, then started to laugh. When they finally stopped they looked at each other and smiled.
"Daric we will plan the wedding, it will be held as soon as possible." my mother said still smiling.
"Yes, it will the grandest of all weddings recorded!" my father pronounced proudly.
I guess this is my Happily Ever After, I am to be married to Elizabeth. I am happy, we will have a true Happy Ever After!

Yay!!! Finally... I finished part one! I know I didn't write this in Wattpad but to me, I'm writing it in parts... just not in wattpad. I feel like that would be too confusing. Do ya get what I mean? I hope so. Anyways, whatcha think? Do you ship Daric and Elizabeth together? Or should there be someone else... or maybe there already is!!! Imma loving this! ≧◡≦
