When Jimin got home he stared at his computer. He was supposed to talk to Hoseok today. He'd pointedly been ignoring his calls for the past two days, basically ever since the letters got out and well he just didn't know how to tell Hoseok.

What was he to say? - " Hey Hyung, how's college?... listen, did I mention that I have a fake boyfriend?...no?.... Yeah, it's Jeon Jungkook. How did it start? ....See that's a funny...that's a funny story, cause well it definitely was not because I was trying to convince your ex boyfriend that I wasn't in love with him, that's for sure...oh shit" 

As if on cue his computer lit up with an incoming call from Hoseok.

Jimin bit down on his lip before pressing the accept button and plastering a large fake smile on his face.

"Jimin, finally I've been trying to call for a few days" Hoseok said with a relieved look

"Hey, sorry, it's been crazy busy" Jimin lied.

"Well tell me everything" Hoseok said eagerly.

"Everything...." Jimin nodded "I'm making cupcakes tonight for cloud's bake sale, so that's exciting"

"Okay...." Hoseok nodded with a frown. "You talked to Taehyung lately?" 

Jimin's eyes widened in horror. He knew. He knew about the letter and that Jimin was in love with Taehyung and that he was dating Jungkook to cover for it. He knew!

"Uhh, no, why-why would I...see Taehyung?" Jimin stumbled over his words.

"Because he's our neighbor, and your friend?" Hoseok pointed out with a confused frown, "Are you okay?" 

"No, you know, I'm just really looking forward to getting the cupcakes done with Cloud, I should go do that, Okay? It was really good talking to you though" Jimin smiled widely.

"Jimin wait..."

"Okay, bye" Jimin waved, before promptly smashing the 'end call' button

A while later

"Hey" Jungkook says as soon as Jimin opens the door

"Uh, hey, what are you doing here?" Jimin says letting Jungkook inside

"Did you not read my note? I am taking you out to Jin's party" Jungkook answered.

"Umm, no" Jimin shook his head as he turned back to preparing the cupcakes

"Umm, yea. One, Yugyeom is gonna be there and two, parties are in the contract" Jungkook reminded Jimin.

"Sorry, I can't"

"A deals a deal" Jungkook huffed.

At that moment Jimin's dad walked into the house.

"Whoa, is that Jeon Jungkook? You're as tall as me now, good to see you again" Jihyun grinned making Jungkook chuckle

Jungkook held a hand out to Jimin's dad, "Mr. Park, nice to see you as well."

 Jimin's dad smiled taking Jungkook's hand, "What are you crazy kids up to?" Jihyun asked setting down a few bags of groceries.

"I'm just here to pick up Jimin. A friend is having a party. Parents will be there and I'll have him back early, if that's okay" Jungkook said tossing a smile at Jimin.

"Yes" Jihyun nodded.

"No" Jimin interjected with a huff, making Jungkook gap at him. "I promised Cloud I'd help him with the cupcakes" Jimin shook his head.

"No, I think Cloud and I can handle a couple of cupcakes" Jihyun pushes Jimin away from the counter

Jimin groaned.

"Go" Jihyun ordered

Later

The party was big and loud, just like Jimin knew it would be, he could tell before they even stepped inside.

Jungkook noticed Jimin fidgeting uneasily

"You look great" Jungkook offered with a smile

"Yeah" Jimin scoffed in response

"I promise, here look" Jungkook took out his phone and snapped a picture.

Just as the flash went off Jimin ran a hand through his hair and squinted at the camera.

Jungkook inspected the photo to see that, damn, Jimin photographed well. He looked crazy hot, actually.

Jimin grimaced at the photo as Jungkook showed it to him.

"Give me your phone" Jungkook demanded holding his hand out

"What? Why?" Jimin asked handing it over.

Instead of answering Jungkook took a photo of himself and handed it back to Jimin, "Set this as your background."

"What about you?" Jimin asked then, looking up, "What's your background?"

"You know I've already got that covered" Jungkook held up his own phone to show that he had already set the picture he'd just taken of Jimin as his background.

Jimin bit down on his lower lip. He'd never been someone's background before. He felt oddly special, of course the feeling didn't last because he immediately remembered it was fake. The cute gestures, the compliments, the relationship all together was completely fake
