Khya
I don't know what was taking Khyra so long especially when the store was a block up. I was sitting on the couch on my phone when I heard a car door close. I thought it was mom so I didn't bother to move. She had a key. Shortly after I heard knocking at the door. I got up to get it when I was shocked to see MIckey's little sister Marcia. She looked distraught so I begin to worry and panic because Khyra and mom was still out. I let her in and hurriedly close the door. "What's wrong Marcia? Did something happen to mom? Where is she? Is she okay?" I begin to bombard her with questions. She begin to speak when I seen Khyra walk in the door. I was about to rush to hug her until I seen her hands were full so I helped her and called out younger siblings downstairs to eat. I went back into the living room to see why Marcia was here. Before I could ask a million more questions she held her finger up and waited until Khyra came back out and lead us into our room. "Listen girls I know seeing me is a surprise but I had to come check on your mother. I was taking a nap when I had a dream that your mother and my bitch ass brother got into another fight and this time it didn't end to nicely. Where is your mother?" Marcia and Mickey didn't get along because from what Marcia told us, their mother was a crackhead who sold her children to men but when she told Mickey that his friend was one of the people who raped her he slapped her and told her to stop lying so much. Since then their relationship was almost non-existent until she found out he lived near us and was getting married. She seeked counseling and was willing to forgive him until she found out he was beating our mother. She grew to love our mother like a sister so even after she stopped talking to her brother she kept in contact with our mother always telling her to leave him.
Marcia sat on my bed and started crying. This was the second time today that someone cried about my mother situation. "Auntie what are you talking about? Mom went to drop Kameron off a hour ago. He said he wanted to talk to her." Marcia stood and walked to the door to make sure the kids were okay before she came back and sat down. "I had just got off work and decided I needed a nap. So in this dream your mother had been talking to your father's brother about having a balloon release when Mickey walked in on the conservation. He made the situation more than what it was to be and on top of that he was drinking. One thing lead to another and ended up getting his gun shooting your mother 3 times then killed himself. I know this is hard for you girls but please tell your mother to leave. Give her more reason to leave. I'm going to do some research. My brother has to be off the streets. He can't do this again." And with that she left. I was stuck with what she meant by again.
Our mother came home not even 5 minutes after Marcia but it looked like she had a lot of things on her mind so I just went and ran her a bath while Khyra went and cleaned up the kitchen. I told her her bath was ready and hugged her like she was going to fade away. I didn't even give her the chance to say anything because I walked out before she could. I went to my room and plopped down on my bed. I was mentally tired. Dealing with the fighting, the abuse my mother suffered, our broken home. It was all too much. I was honestly starting to hate Mickey. He wasn't like this when we met him 4 years ago. Mom swore she was in love but Mickey was that type. He was a manipulator. He talked a good talk and when mom got comfortable enough he proposed and 5 months later they were married. The first time he hit her, we were at school. We came home to the front room tv broken. Our grandmother, Wanda had picked us up from school because our mom told her she had just woken up 10 minutes before so since Gram didn't mind and she stay close she agreed. When Gram pulled up to the house mom was already in the car making an excuse that she had to hurry to get to the store to start dinner. Gram hugged and kissed us all before she stared at mom for a good 10 minutes before she finally left. When we returned home Kameron wanted to play his game but when he went to turn the tv on the screen was white with black spots. When he asked mom she said she threw one of Kyndall toys by accident. Since then the excuses were coming so much we started to believe them until one day Mickey slapped mom right in front of us. Kameron was at boxing pratice that day. Mom made an excuse then being she hit him first but they argued in front of us the whole time so how? Months later when we were all in the front room Mickey came home from court and seen mom and went OFF. Kameron immediately jumped up and pounced on Mickey. Although Kameron was 50 pounds lighter than Mickey being 145 he didn't let that stop him from almost killing him. When Kameron asked mom was she going to leave she said she was too scared to so he went to his room, packed all his things, and called our grandparents to come get him.Thinking about the whole thing had me emotional so I busied myself in my phone to get my mind off that.
I decided to scroll instagram when I had a message request. When I went to it I seen it was the boy across the street, JaMar, asking me about Khyra. I ignored the message, deciding I'll see him tomorrow and we could discuss things in person. If he was going to try to approach my twin he was going to have to come hard because she had a thick skin and after witnessing what our mother is going through she mentally decided that she was never going to date. Me on the other hand, couldn't wait to find the love our mother had with our father before he was murdered.
