"I'm still so happy I found you Troye," I typed into my phone one night. I couldn't believe it had been two months since I met Troye.
"I'm glad you found me too," he replied.
"You're almost a month clean aren't you troye?" Troye had been doing so well lately. No more waking up in the middle of the night in pain, no more mysterious marks on my body, no more anything.
":D I know Im happy! thanks 2 you tilly."
"I'm happy if youre happy," and I really meant it. Troye and I spent a lot of time together, mainly at his house, his family loves me. Mr. and Mrs. Mellet just fawn over Troye and I. One time, I was walking to the restroom and I over heard Troye's mom say to his dad "Shaun, I don't think I've ever seen two souls fit together as Troye's and Tyler's do." I mean they were talking about us even when we weren't in the room and they still couldn't get over the fact that we were so good for each other.
My mom, on the other hand, didn't really approve of Troye. It had nothing to do with the fact that I was gay, or so she said, but more on the fact that she didn't think Troye was a good influence on me. It was all because of what happened the first time I went to hang out at Troye's.
I thought back to that day. It had been a Friday, about a month ago, and Troye's mom picked him up from school and asked if I wanted to join them for dinner. I said sure and hopped into the backseat.
"Thank you, Mrs. Mellet."
"Please call me Laurelle," she flashed a smile into the rearview mirror.
We did a bit of small talk until we reached the Mellet house.
"TYLER WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU!" Korey had texted me, it was only then did it occur to me that I hadn't told him I didn't need him to take me home.
"haha... uh funny story, I'm with Troye."
"fuck you, bye." Korey too seemed to be having an issue with Troye.
"Who was that?" Troye asked me, his eyes getting wide as they did when he was curious.
"Just Korey, no big deal," I ruffled his hair, reassuringly.
He blushed, "Tilly..."
I laughed and walked into his house. Troye's house was very nice and very big.
"Kids! We have a guest!" Mrs. Mellet called up the stairs. One by one Troye's siblings came running down the stairs. Though they were all close to age with Troye, none of them went to the same high school as us. Steele went to some film school, Sage went to an all girls high school, and Tyde was in only 7th grade.
"Tyler!" Tyde said bouncing up to me.
I high fived him, "hey, little man, nice to see you again."
"S'up man?" Steele nodded to me.
"Not much, how's film school?"
"Well it is really just like any other high school, all the perks of learning how to make movies with the same stress as a normal high school," he laughed coolly. Though I had just met him, I could tell Steele was very laid back and chill, unlike Troye who was always anxious.
"Sounds nice," I turned to Sage, "nice to meet you."
She crossed her arms, "if you hurt my brother, I'll hurt you."
"I don't plan on it," I counter.
She unfolded her arms and smiled, "well good!"
Troye, who was getting uncomfortable with all the attention, spoke up, "um, mom? Can Tyler and I go to my room?"
