"Why are you in such a hurry?" I knew the voice but I didn't realize who it was until I turned around. "Oh, I was just, going back, to my room." I said trying to steady my breath but failed. I meet Mia's gaze as she stared at my state, and she smirked? She looked around as to make sure we were alone, giving me another glare and looks me up and down.
"Ha, looking at you like this makes me question way the men in charge wanted you so bad." She starts circling me, "I, was supposed to train the newbies, but then they handed it to you. When I asked way all they said was, "Because she would be able to teach them more." And what are you doing, oh ya, playing innocent. UGH. Looking at you now pisses me off Crystal, or should I say, war-"
"I think you're over stepping your boundaries, Sargent Major Garretson." I fell a hand on my shoulder and relax. "First Lieutenant Stone. My apologies I didn't realize you were here." Mia said bowing in apologies. The Lieutenant's face went cold. "Even if I wasn't here you should watch your tongue. You know very well of her position compared to yours. And all ranking officers were briefed on her so you would know the acceptable way to address, and act around her." Mia flinched at those words.
"Dismissed." The Lieutenant said, and Mia swiftly walked away. "I need to talk to." He said walking away slowly so I could catch up. I was still shaking but not as bad, my breathing was about normal, and I wasn't sweating anymore. "Nightmares?" He asked. *Sigh* "Ya." "Well, I know you can handle yourself, but be careful. Anyway, you have to tell the rookies Friday during the second training." "What! But thats so sudden, and I need more time." "Look, we don't have all the time in the world, and I know this is how you operate, but it can't be helped. You were actually supposed to do it tomorrow, but we got you an extra day." "I see, well thank you. I'll keep that in mind, but what do I need for Friday?" He stops and looks at me. "That." He said poking me forehead.
"That's helpful." I cross my arms. "You're the one studying them so you're the only one who can decide how to train them. We asked you here because of you skills and intelligence, hoping you could pass it onto the new recruits." I'm calm now and let out a big sigh. "Ok, thanks for telling me everything, but I'm getting hungry so, I'll see ya later." "Bye." I wave at him as I'm walking away then put my hands in my pants.
(I'm the only one who can decide how train them. Ha, ya right, if it was up to me probably half would drop out after a week. When it comes down to it, when the going gets tough, peoples resolve is weak and fragile.) I kept walking until I got to the hall, somehow I was the first there. Once I sit down, I ate without even looking for the others. I was about done eating when people sit down and I already know who they are without looking up.
"Where have you been?" Nora asked. "I was there but I didn't see you guys." "Ya, ok, but what's up with you and Mia?" At the mention of her name I meet the gaze of Darrick. "We saw her earlier with you, then later walking away really fast, and she was pissed. When I asked her what was wrong she said, "You'll understand when you see the true colors of your new friend!" Then she brushed past us." He continued. "What did you do to piss her off that much?" Xavier added.
"Ha, I didn't do anything wrong," I shoot a glare at Darrick, "Your sister needs to learn when to bite her tongue. She was pissed that she was passed up for a position that she really wanted, and I so happened to become the object of her furry. Then when someone put her back into line she acted like a child and stormed off." I stood up and walked away saying, "Excuse me."
It was only 8:45 pm but I went back to the room. I sat on the bed trying to calm myself down. I was failing and flash backs kept running through my mind so I forgot what I was thinking.
"Come on sweaty, your brother didn't mean it, he was just mad at dads words." A gentle hand touches my head then pulls me into a hug. I'm only 2 1/2 and my older brother snapped at me so I'm bawling. "But I only wanted to help him mommy." I said through the sobbing. She stroked my head and whispered, "I know," Into my ear. I pull away to look at my mothers face with tears still running down my face, but once I leave her embrace she was gone, and I was left alone again. I frantically looked for her, but found nothing, so all I could do was cry out, hoping someone would save me from my living nightmare.
"Hey! Wake up already!" My eyes shoot open to see Noah with one knee one the bed hovering over me.(Fuck!)
