Riko's POV
"I was completely shocked, dumbstruck and confused on what just happened. This boy claimed that he knew who I was, my name and that we had met, before. But, the thing is, I don't ever remember him going to our school or ever meeting him, once in my life but, something about him reminding me of (Your name), my childhood friend from back when we were six. The way his (Eye Color) eyes sparkled with that same, (Eye Color) color that (Your name) had and his hair was somewhat similar to (Your name)'s hair, too. It was a similar shade of (Hair color). And that look in his eyes, definitely looked like, something I had always seen in (Your name)'s eyes. That soft, innocent and gentle look telling you that he was sweet and innocent, like always.
I walked up to Kanan and Chika after lunch, in the hallways. They were both near their lockers, chatting before, I came over to them. "Hey, Chika. Hey, Kanan. You know that boy? He has (Hair color) hair and (Eye Color) eyes and is about as tall as I am?" I inquired.
"Oh, you mean, (Your name)?! Yeah, he's new! Today's his first day of school." Chika explained. My eyes lit up at her claim. (YOUR NAME)?! This was really him?! He moved here, too?!
"His name is (Your name) (Last name)?!" I asked. Kanan nodded. Oh my gosh! I was such a jerk!! I knew him since, we were six and completely forgot who he was and that we had met, before?! What is wrong with me?! He was everything to me. My light, my world. Suddenly, icy tears began to flow into my eyes like, rivers.
"Oh, Riko are you okay?!" Kanan asked, concerned. A single tear splashed down my cheek and onto my bare knee.
"I was such a jerk! I know (Your name)!! He is my childhood friend since, we were six!" I explained. Kanan and Chika looked completely surprised.
"I have to go!" I quickly told them and ran away to find (Your name), leaving Chika and Kanan standing shoulder to shoulder, in confusion and wonder about (Your name) and I's childhood, trying to understand what I just told them.
I needed to set things right with him.
Your POV
"I sat inside my homeroom class, lonely with my chin, resting in my hands. No one was there, not even, the teacher was there. The desks were all empty and the sun was still outside but, since, the crimson red curtains were covering the windows, the sun was not visible so, the class was dark and lonely. Riko didn't remember me and it was quite tragic. My childhood best friend, probably would prefer her life, without me. She had Guilty Kiss and Mari and Yoshiko. And I had Chika and Kanan so, I should just stay out of her life.
She must want me to move back to the United States so, that she won't have to deal with her clingy, annoying male childhood friend, hovering over her all the time like, I used to. I mentally figured out. Just as, I was about to start crying, the classroom door slide opening, revealing... Riko Sakurauchi.
Before, I could say or do anything, Riko bursted into loud and violent tears and cries of sadness. Cold tears splashed down Riko's pretty doll-like face. I looked over at her in confusion and concern for her. I forced myself to utter out the words, "Riko-chi?".
Riko rubbed her soft, yellow eyes, batting away the tears with the back of her hand. "Oh, (Your name)-kun! I am so sorry!" Riko cried. She was still standing at the classroom's front slide door. Her eyes were all red and puffy from crying.
"Riko-chan. Why are you crying?" I asked from my desk. I stuffed my (Favorite anime) manga book, into my (Favorite color) bookbag. I stared into Riko's teary eyes with sympathy in my eyes.
"(Your name)-kun, I'm sorry. I was acting like such a jerk. I didn't recognize my own best friend at first glance! I am so very sorry! I've missed you, so much. I'm also sorry for not texting or calling you, I've been SO busy with Guilty Kiss. I'm glad, you moved here and I can now see my childhood best friend, again." She told me. A smile formed onto my face. Riko finally recognized me! And she was sorry. I was with my childhood best friend, again and I couldn't have been happier.
"It's okay, Riko-chi. I've been depressed, ever since, you left." I told her. Riko's eyes widened. She cocked her to the side as, her eyes clouded with guilt and concern.
"Oh, (Your name)-kun. I'm sorry, that I wasn't there to help you, with your depression."
"It's okay, Riko." I spoke and approached her. We both smiled at each and hugged, tightly. It felt so good to be this close to Riko but, my feelings towards her seemed to be much stronger than before. I felt like I was... in love with my best friend, Riko Sakurauchi. Right at the moment, I had realized that.
"Riko. I need to tell you something." I began. My cheeks turned scarlet red as, Riko's eyes filled with curiosity. "I love you, Riko."
Riko's cheeks were powered with blush as, the sun touch them, now, making them glow red. "I-I love you too, (Your name). I want to be with you, forever and ever and ever and ever." She responded.
What was this called? When, the one you love loves you back? No, it's not 'imagination'. Infact, I don't know what it is but, it definitely isn't in my dreams or imagination. This reality. I had just realized that me and Riko would always be Once Together, Friends Forever until, the end of time."
