It was a cool, quiet night. The cool was one that you could bare in just a tee shirt, but the slight wind required that one would have to wear a light hoodie. I looked up towards the clear sky and looked at the stars. It was beautiful. The stars were freckled against the dark sky. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I laid back onto the soft dewy grass. My butt was already damp and I didn't mind my back getting wet either. I was content.
"What are you thinking about?" I heard an unfamiliar voice say.
"What I'm going to do tonight."
"What are you going to do tonight."
"Die."
"No you're not." I sat up and whipped my head towards the stranger who had the audacity to tell me what I was and wasn't going to do.
"Yeah? And, you're going to stop me?" I hissed at the stranger.
"I never said that" he replied calmly. I sat quietly, confused.
"I just don't believe you" he said.
"You don't believe me?" I questioned.
"Exactly, you seem perfectly fine. You looked relaxed and calm. Though now you are a little on edge." I noticed how tense I was and let myself relax. He continued
"You seem to have no visible health issues, so I don't understand why you said you were going to die tonight."
"Well, just because I look okay doesn't mean I am."
He hummed and closed his eyes. I laid back again.
"It's such a wonderful night" he said.
"I know, it's perfect" I replied.
"You know, it would be a shame."
"What would?"
"To leave now."
"I suppose."
I took another deep breath and sat up. I looked around and the stranger was gone. I took out my phone and looked at the time.
"2:57" I muttered to myself. I got up off the ground and walked to my door.
"Maybe I'll do it tomorrow" I said to myself before I opened it and went inside to go to bed.
